the restaurant is pretty small but we arrived just before they closed for break so we didn’t have to wait for seats ( they close from 4-5 pm)We love how crispy the bottoms of these buns are and the amount of soup inside these baos! Be careful when you bite into them because they will burn your mouth. We recommend you just stick with the original flavour of the baos it’s the best, the curry was a bit over powering. They also offer 10% if you pay with cash!

A friend recommended we try Sang Ji. The wait on Canada Day was just 15 minutes, got a seat on the counter which is great. Ordered a few orders of their original fried bao and the bite size wonton soup. The bao was nice and hot, soup was quite tasty with good crunch on the bottom. Wontons were okay but the soup was very good. Nice as a chaser. Will return and try out the other snacks next time.

small but amazing menu - we tried everything and it was all SO GOOOOOD!! Their fried dumplings are the obivous choice but their garlic noodles and fried pork were fantastic too! We heard them say they are opening more locations downtown.

Food is great especially the original bao buns. It’s filled with pork broth that is on the sweeter note. The skin is soft on the top part and fragrant with sesame seeds; bottom part is crispy. Good textural contrast.Pork ribs is crispy and balanced in flavour; it’s deep fried riblets type of small pork ribs and two fried rice cake served with sweet Thai chilli sauce. It’s pretty good as a starterThe dough fritter rolls is just a so so for us, it’s wrapped with an eggy type of skin and topped with pork floss. This is a “no repeat” for us.The wonton soup is ok, serves hot and perfect for a cold winter day like today (-20C). Wonton is bite-size filled with pork. Wonton skin is not as thin as I’d like it but I think that’s just preferences. The dry noodle is nothing special, it’s literally boiled noodles topped with fried onion and very very very little peanuts. I got literally 1 piece of a crushed peanut. So, this is also a “no repeat” for us.Now food wise we would rate this place as a 4-star restaurant. What makes the experience worst is the service. It was pretty packed when we arrived and we were asked to leave a phone number and were to wait for 20 mins. They call us and it went to the voicemail as I was on the other line. However, we proceeded straight into the restaurant literally the same minute that called us. However, they gave the table away to other patron and without hearing us out; they yelled “you didn’t pick up our phone so I give table away”. We waited another 20 mins for another table which made us waited around 40Mins for this food. Yeah, so this made our experience a little rough to start. When we were dining, all the servers were yelling sorry here and there. I think the flow of the restaurant made them constantly bumping themselves to customers/people. There’s not a lot of good operational flow in the restaurant.Overall, a good place to do take out because food is good. Dining in wise it’s still a 3⭐️ for us.

I ordered the fried bao, wonton soup and scallion noodles. All of which were simple in their own right but delightfully flavourful. The meal was a healthy amount as a meal for two lighter eaters leaving room for dessert still. I was happy with all three dishes and would order the same when I eventually return

The Sang-Ji fried Bao was so great. The soup inside was so tasty. I love the original one more than curry one. The snacks were ok.

One of my new favourite restaurants! You can’t go wrong the original pork sang-ji bao and the dry scallion noodle. The curry sang-ji bao and the savoury dough fritter roll also taste great!Be prepared to wait for a while if you go at a peak time as seating is limited. There is also a huge draft from the basement where the washroom is located, which is something to be mindful of. Can’t wait to go back for more!
