This is my second review, in May 2022- my whole family got Covid-19. That included my little one, she was 10months old then. Due to the severity of it, she had 2 seizure episode within the course of her illness. I called 4 different Pediatric doctors and a family doctor to get her assessed as I felt she might need more work up to make sure everything is okay- unfortunately all 4 doctors were dismissive (except this one clinic) and said it’s normal to have seizures with Covid-19. As a mother I knew, I had to get it further investigated. So I called my favourite Peds clinic for an appointment- and got a virtual appointment and then a walk-in appointment. So I went into the office with my daughter, Dr. Allison did a check up thoroughly and asked lots of questions and this is what she said- I think we should refer her to a Peds neurologist for further investigation! I just told myself “yes, finally someone listened to me!” She did her part! She referred my daughter to 2 different neuro Peds (one in Oakville and one in Mississauga). Met the neuro Peds doc in Mississauga and she said she wants to do an MRI just to make sure everything is ok!Mind you- This is not a paid review. This is a genuine review and the reason why I am writing a review is to get this message to as many parents as possible that your kid is in safe hand with Dr. Allison. Yes, Dr. Allison may sound stern at times, but I just choose not to be bothered by it because I assume that’s her style of talking and it’s her personality. Regardless, she is a good and professional Pediatrician.

I’ve been to this clinic a handful of times in the past month as I initially brought my daughters here when our doctor didn’t have any appointments available. Making an appointment was easy (and very clearly stated that it is needed on the website) and we’ve been able to get appointments next day if needed. The receptionists are very kind and helpful.Dr. Tyrrell is thorough with her questions and direct in how she speaks, which I can see how it might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I enjoy that she’s straight to the point. She answers all of my questions and then some. Our appointments have been on time or late, but that’s to be expected. It’s like traffic- it’s unpredictable and everyday can be different. She also makes sure to book follow up visits and is available by phone appointments if needed. All in all, my visits to this clinic have been positive and will continue to bring my daughters here as my eldest has also enjoyed seeing Dr. Tyrrell. And no I am not a friend or family member- just a local mom seeking medical care during viral season.

Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. We’ve only had good experiences when we have an appointment with Dr. Tyrell. She is thorough, asks questions to ensure nothing is left out, friendly, and great with our almost two year old. She even found an ear infection that another walk-in doctor did not find because they didn’t even check our daughter’s ears.We would definitely recommend Dr. Tyrell to parents with kids! We prefer to go here over our daughter’s family doctor.

I don't understand these negative reviews. My family doctor's office ran out of vaccines twice, and we only found out when we arrived for our appointments. Both times, we called this clinic to see if my baby boy could get vaccinated there. I got the appointments easily, and the doctor was so kind and great with my son.

When we first moved to Ontario from BC we were so disheartened that we could not find a reliable family doctor. We found this clinic by googling. On our first visit, Dr.Tyrell seemed arrogant and impatient. However what we absolutely liked about her is the straightforward no-nonsense approach to the diagnosis. She asked us a bunch of questions and carefully considered the science before prescribing anything for our son. I trust her judgement even though doctors cannot diagnose accurately 10 out 10 times especially in infants and toddlers as they cannot express themselves. The staff are also very helpful, thorough and organized. I understand some parents did not get the chance to ask a lot of questions and sometimes were not treated the way they expected. But in the end they have to decide whether they want someone who can be trusted with the medical science when it comes to children or someone who is pleasant but cannot diagnose your child properly.

DO NOT COME HERE. I brought my son here to have a doctor look at his face as he has a rash. The receptionist was nice — HOWEVER the doctor (whose name I don’t even know) was HORRIBLE. I believe the nurse said Dr. Tyrell or Churell??? You’d think I know since usually they introduce themselves. As soon as she came in the room to examine my son she had an attitude right off the bat. No introduction, no hello no NOTHING. The entire time she asked questions she had an attitude. She even told me I was ‘weird’ for not bringing him to a family doctor before seeing her. The AUDACITY. You would think she knew me and had a personal problem with me. She should reconsider her profession. Complete turn off and it took a lot for me to hold my mouth. I would not refer her to a single soul on this planet. I could go on as there was so much more but hopefully this gives you an idea. Zero stars if I could.ANY GOOD REVIEW I SEE HERE IS HER FAMILY OR A FRIEND.

Terrible first experience. Firstly I was told this is a walk in and then I was told it’s not now. I got there and it was their “lunch time” which by the way they close for that, which there ain’t anything wrong everyone has to eat. Anyways I waited until they were back. I was parked right outside their door, and there Way NO ONE WAITING inside I only saw one stroller that was park but no baby or child in it. I called they picked up and told me that I don’t have an appointment they can’t take me. I told them my 3 month old son has really bad congestion and needs to be seen due to him having bronchitis a few weeks ago. They said try a walk in family doctor or hospital. I’m shocked I was turned away especially since he’s a baby and I was outside the door and there was no patient inside that I saw, I think they could have made an expectation. For my first time coming here it was a horrible experience.

This is a great clinic and I’ve had nothing but positive experiences through multiple visits for both my daughters. I do not agree at all with the negative reviews I’ve found here; the doctor has great bedside manner and is very attentive. She answers questions and concerns and explains her diagnosis very clearly.Edit 2023/02/13:I was attending a follow up appointment for my youngest today and witnessed disgusting behaviour by other parents who subsequently left a poor review calling the doctor and receptionist “loosers” because apparently spellcheck isn’t a thing. They were seemingly upset that they couldn’t simply walk in and get an appointment right away. This is despite the proper procedures being clearly posted on the door and the fact that we’re still in the middle of a COVID pandemic with an RSV outbreak to boot. And no, they were not masked despite that requirement also being posted on the door. When I was let in and brought to a room the woman asked what time my appointment was and I told her “11:00 am” (it was now 11:15). After this she and her family left, but not before shouting “bye losers!”People who act like this are the absolute worst. They brought the receptionist, who does a difficult and important job and who has never been anything but pleasant, to tears. This is a human being who deserves the same respect as anyone else. You can’t treat people like that simply because you don’t get service on your terms; the world doesn’t work like that.Arubah Kids Clinic is my go-to when my family doctor can’t see my kids on short notice and I keep coming back because they are courteous and professional and I am always treated equitably. I will keep coming back and I will continue to recommend this place to anyone who asks.

Appreciate this clinic for taking measures during a COVID/ RSV surge! Signs on the door and receptionist have mentioned to us the protocols in place for our/ other patients’ safety (ie masking and waiting in your car until they call you in for your appointment). It sounds like a lot of people don’t understand these measures from the 1 star reviews. Definitely don’t listen to that company with no reason for their low score. Probably a bot or someone vindictive enough to verbally abuse healthcare workers. It’s a convenient location with great staff. Dr. Tyrell is to the point and efficient. Her receptionist is kind and fast to call you back if they miss your call.

This place is our go-to clinic to bring the kids when our family doctor is unavailable on short notice. I’ve seen the bad reviews and our experience here has been nothing but pleasant. Dr. Tyrell is straightforward and thorough. As a worried mother of 2 young children, she puts my mind at ease since I trust her expertise and experience as a paediatrician. She doesn’t sugar coat or “beat around the bush” so don’t expect her to corroborate your WebMD search with Dr. Google.I will say that we have encountered belligerent people who come to visit the clinic being extremely rude to the receptionist so I can only imagine what they’re like to Dr. Tyrell and the rest of the staff. It doesn’t take a lot to be kind. I get that might be difficult to do especially when our kids are sick and we’re all at our wits end but at the end of the day, we’re all at the clinic waiting for help for our little ones. Also, yes it says “walk-in” but I suppose people don’t realize that COVID/ the raging RSV season (y’know the thing clogging up our hospitals) changed a lot of the healthcare landscape. Call ahead of time. It takes a few minutes out of your day and if you don’t get through right away, leave a message and the receptionist will get back to you quite quickly regarding openings. There is a notice on the door indicating that the waiting room is closed (because of the aforementioned diseases) so please, do yourself a favour and read the instructions the clinic has posted or clarify them when you call.Note: there is a mask requirement, because again, the aforementioned diseases (y’know, RSV and influenza, and COVID) affecting kids, hospitals, etc.I can’t say enough good things about this clinic, but there’s a lot to say about the rude parents who come through and verbally abuse the staff. It’s awful seeing parents set terrible examples for their kids, especially after coming to a clinic for help.
