Literally the worst experience!! I am honestly shocked this clinic has 3.2 stars. The clinic opens at 1:30, I arrived early so was the second patient there. The doctor strolled in at 2:40 to check on the first. No sense of time, zero respect for other people’s time and urgency. I was referred from ER and I got the sense that they are just in it for money, because the eye specialist did the basic examination that the ER performed, couldn’t tell me why my eyes are hurting, disregarding my eye pain for 5 days and told me to see ENT specialist. Told the doctor it’s my eye that’s hurting but he couldn’t pin point on why my eye hurt because he thinks it’s a sinus problem. When I redescribed my whole situation and reconfirmed that I wasn’t sick or ever had a sinus problem in my life he said “well are you a doctor??” I was shocked. He the doctor couldn’t tell me what the problem is but would question why I question him. So I asked him if there’s nothing wrong with my eye, then can I wear contacts? He said shouldn’t so I asked if it’s because I have an infection. He said no, then he said I can wear contacts. Like make up your mind. And please wash your hands before touching my eye lid, so you don’t pass any infection to me. So not only did I waste an hour and a half going there and back, I wasted another hour and half for him to show up, and now I am wasting more time to go back to ER, wait and have my problem sorted out. All and all the worse experience ever, not only because the specialist did not provide more information than I already have, he was also very unprofessional during the whole time. Maybe those who rated 5 did not have the same doctor I did.

After a confirmed appointment for my client and waiting for over an hour they told us the machine was not working. They gave us a new appointment and received an email for confirmation and when we came back we waited for 2 hours because they forgot to call us.Very poor service.To all patients, they must always follow up when to be call otherwise it waste of time to sit there waiting for nothing. Poor service.

If I could give 0 stars I would, my mother recently had cataract surgery at Uptown Eye Specialists I would call it a hack job instead of surgery and I would call them thieves instead of specialists! My mother is a very understanding woman however her situation has been handled completely wrong by everyone at the clinic! Firstly my mom had her “surgery” booked but before hand she had measurements taken so that the procedure would go accordingly that did not happen. The measurements taken were incorrect however the “specialists” went forward with the “surgery” anyway! even though my mom questioned why they were doing this procedure without the proper numbers they could not give her a straight answer and since we put our trust in the staff at these offices my mom allowed the “surgery” to take place. Fast forward to the healing I was there to take care of my mom as she was instructed to not do certain tasks however she never healed properly and after a week of pain and blurry vision she still had no answers. Now after a follow up appointment she has been told that they will not be doing anything to correct the “surgery” that they themselves messed up and she will just have to live with eyesight that is no better then when she went in! Will definitely be telling everyone not to use this clinic run in the opposite direction if you are referred to this place!!! Oh and I forgot to mention that it was all paid out of pocket almost $4000!!!!

Although the staff is always courteous and professional, this office is unbelievably noisy, busy and hurried. Be prepared to wait more than an hour beyond your appointment time. Names are called very loudly over the speakers every 30-60 seconds. The receptionists are behind acrylic panels and cannot hear the clients, and clients cannot hear the receptionists. Everyone has to yell to be heard. This medical office has many many elderly patients who have difficulty navigating this space and following the directions that are often hastily given.Once you are in with the medical professional, they are in a hurry and also often do not speak directly facing you. Overall, anxiety inducing and the opposite of calm.

Worst experience ever. I am a cash paying customer without insurance. I went in after a consult for a procedure. As soon as I walked in I was told I need to do another exam ($150), I said okay. However I wanted more information on the exam and an explanation of why i am being told by a front desk receptionist I need this and not the doctor. She said alright. I will get someone to explain it to you. Waited half hour to get called in. Tech started prepping for the surgery. I asked them, what about the other exam that’s needed. She looked at the schedule and said it was cancelled. I asked her. If someone can explain what this exam is and what it’s for, I would be glad to pay for it. She said please go ask reception. After I explained the whole situation again, she agreed to walk out to reception to get a better understanding of what was going on. Reception said it’s up to you to get the exam. Once more I tried to get them to understand, what is this exam, what is the purpose and why were you ready to take me to surgery without it?!? They all had nothing to say.They are funneling government insurance patients through the door and doing procedures. Just because it’s covered and it’s free, doesn’t mean poor eduction to the patient. I feel bad for their patients who have trusted them to do the right thing.

I underwent Lasik eye surgery at Uptown Eye Specialist by Dr. Tam, and my experience was disappointing. I regret not reading reviews beforehand before accepting my eye doctor's referral to this clinic. During the surgery, the pain I felt in my left eye was unbearable and I even screamed during the process. After more than two years of recovery, my left eye still does not feel comfortable, and the total cost for the surgery on both eyes was over $10,000. Unfortunately, both of my eyes are also extremely dry after the surgery, despite spending a lot of money on various treatments to alleviate the issue. Like other patients, I signed the waiver, which doesn't leave me with many options. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone considering Lasik surgery.

Dr. Maini recently performed two cataract surgeries on my father, and the entire process was efficiently organized and went smoothly. As a result, my father was very pleased with the outcome. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Maini and the entire team involved in his care. Thank you!

Dr Daniel Weisbrod was shockingly rough and aggressive with my orbital area when examining my eyes. He did not stop even after I told him to stop. He was not willing to answer my questions properly or elaborate. He also tried to get me to commit to a retinal laser surgery for a completely unrelated issue that he found". Once he saw I wasn't falling for that

Worse experience. Referred from north York general emergency room by Dr Maini who said he had clinic next day at 11. Showed up at 11 only to learn Dr Maini wasn’t there and waited for four hours to see another doctor. Seems like a scam from the ER to direct business to his private clinic. Poor service, indifferent staff. Go somewhere else.

I was here 4 years ago and at the time really agreed with reviews describing it as a cattle market with rude staff and badly-treated elderly patients. However, I attended again recently and the experience couldn't have been more different, it was surprisingly pleasant. The place was no longer overcrowded, the staff were friendly and kind, the place seemed cleaner, there was enough seating etc.My only criticism was that phone communication before the appointment was really quite poor. No explanation about the 2 appointment system, just pre-recorded messages with the details of the two appointment times (why two? It would be very simple to explain that patients need one appointment for testing then a follow up to see the doctor), plus telling me I would need to have someone drive me home which I didn't need and cost my family lost income arranging lifts (is this a blanket message perhaps?). When I called to ask for more information it was like pulling teeth - one word answers to questions and I was made to feel like a nuisance for wanting to know what was going to happen. Maybe I just got unlucky calling at a busy time, but perhaps this could be looked at as a training issue.In summary, communication about what to expect from appointments could definitely be improved but on the whole it was good experience - thank you!
