I have decided not to return to this store. I'm an avid gardener and living just up the street from this place have given them some business. I do get the owner can be a bit hard to deal with so I just keep out of her way but the employees are mostly wonderful. Sometimes I do ask questions and take my time. Today I was waiting for my turn to get inside the store, the owner asked me you want to come inside to just look or you plan to buy?"....really! I didn't see her ask this of anyone else

I would probably go here more often if the staff were a bit kinder to their customers. It's unfortunate.

This place might be my favourite place to buy a plant. And it's not even because of the plants! It's the staff that keeps me coming back for more. Now, don't get me wrong- the plants are great! But...there is something about the women that run this store, with a mixture of superior plant knowledge and just plain...superiority in every other way. Not even in a typical karen" kind of way that usually annoys me. They are smarter than me about plants

I bought brocoli and strawberries from this garden centre. The only two items I did not grow from seeds. One week in the raised garden bed on my balcony and I had 3 slugs trailing all the way from the broccoli to my tomato and romaine.Blacklisted.

We have a love/not love relationship with this place. We love that it is local, seemingly run by women. The selection is okay, prices are excellent. However, customer service is challengingAnd everyone smokes, which can really break you from your flower trance when you get smacked in the face with tobacco smoke as you come or go.This place sees a lot of traffic and someOf the plants get trampled.

Absolutely love it! Easily the best gardening centre I know of in downtown Toronto.I've bought numerous healthy pepper and tomato plants from here. Have also bought a good variety of herbs (basil, coriander, oregano, etc). They also have bags of soil, and most other gardening wants and needs.Great place all around!

I recently bought some hanging plants and after a week or so at home the plant didn't look so good and I thought I should take it back. I spoke with Nancy who explained that it was because it hadn't been watered enough and actually took the plant out of the container and showed me what she meant.Being a stubborn know it all man I couldn't accept that and I ended up being a jerk, the whole time Nancy was amazing and never let me get to her. I finally cooled down and agreed to take it back and water the hell out of it.Well, of course she was right and I was a knucklehead and I made the trip back for more flowers and to apologize to her. These ladies are hard working, know their stuff when you ask them and even when you're a jerk they still keep their cool. Thanks Nancy for your patience and help to make my garden and flowers amazing.

Fantastic! Last year I had a really terrible experience with firewood delivery. The guy was a psycho. So this year I tried a different place: East End Garden Centre. They were very pleasant on the phone when I placed my order and everything went great. I even splurged this year and paid a bit extra to get the wood stacked. The delivery guys were super pleasant and did a fantastic job stacking--much better than I ever have. And the quality of the wood looks great. East End Garden Centre is definitely going to be my go-to place from now on. Thanks!2021 UpdateThe East End Garden Centre is always reliable. I’ve had firewood delivered for years now. And the quality of the firewood is first rate. I’m disappointed, though, for the first time regarding the fee to stack the wood on my front porch. It’s always been a $50 fee. That’s what I was quoted when I ordered this year’s wood. But I was charged $100. When I telephoned about this the staff member said “Yes, $50 to stack.” “So why was I charged $100?” I asked. The manager came on the phone and told me that the East End Garden Centre has doubled the amount of the stacking fee. But not only did they not tell me, they twice quoted the old $50 fee—when I called to make the order and when I called to ask about the change. She said that the staff would be told to quote the new, doubled fee. Not good.

You would think that after decades of service they might be able to give you an idea as to how much a tree will cost based on experience. Instead I was rudely told I would have to wait for the stock to arrive. Instead, I went to Beech Nursery and got my Serviceberry tree immediately and it was on sale.

Unfriendly staff (just glanced up & remained on her phone, no hello or can I help you)Not a great selection of indoor plants, store smells like urine. The only thing I can say I enjoy about this shop is the Siamese cat who lounges around in various places.
