What a great, little find on our mini off-season road trip. Wasn't sure it would be open on a Thursday afternoon, but the gallery was even though the trains weren't running (who knew that this town is linked to GO and via!) A lovely place to stop, take in some lovely art and have a chat with the curator about what we were enjoying. A new artist for us (Candy McManiman ~ Paintings of the Endangered) and happy we stopped by. Seemed to be a busy town, even in March! We will come again on some warmer days and check out more of what this little gem on the river has to offer.

In a town that punches above its weight you can add a short visit to the St Marys Station Gallery. The curator has wisely taken advantage of St Marys proximity to the world class Stratford Festival in staging different shows. The current exhibition called ‘Fabulous Fakes’ features props from many plays from the Festival including a headpiece from a 2008 Caesar and Cleopatra production that started the impeccable Christopher Plummer. The town is not only a great place to take a break from the rush and crush of the Stratford Festival but is also worth a visit in its own right with the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame, great coffee shops like Snapping Turtle, and the upmarket Westover Inn.

I enjoyed visiting the place. It would of be nice if the person that got a shop with antique clock was open. He doesn't have a business card or a phone number how to reach him. I didn't know they had a shop in there that fix antique clock .

Such a fantastic idea to have a mixed use function of a historic building. The waiting area for commuters is a gallery setting featuring local artists. The gallery curator, Cameron gave us a thorough description of his paintings of the War of 1812. A great way to learn more about the history through paintings and imaginations.

Wonderful setting and a great way to feature local artists. A must-see if you enjoy a Saturday afternoon ride in the country. Zamfirescu's photography on show when I visited, a very powerful reminder of the relationship between Time and Matter.
