Pure Country Meats

When I was a kid we used to always go to the butcher - then things changed when the big box shops came to town. Little guys just couldn't keep up. What we get now is meat shipped across the country, left sitting for how many days in a fridge, and never knowing where our food comes from.Well thankfully I moved to Strathmore and have the luck to know about this butcher shop. Reminds me of days gone by - FRESH MEAT, GREAT PRICES, and you can ask the butcher questions about whatever you like. This place has a great selection - pork, beef, bison on occasion, even the odd shrimp. Almost any cut and wrap you can imagine. Tons of sausage! My favorite is the beef jerky- made in several different flavors.In reality we are lucky to have such an operation here in town - try the thin cut beef burgers - you can't beat them! And no I don't have any part of this business , I just really like good quality food, and small business.

Just started shopping here a few weeks as we are relatively new to the Calgary area. This is a fantastic place for meats, sausage, chickens etc...Very nice storefront with a great variety of products,. We are big meat eaters and this meat was much better quality the big box stores and competitively priced.. The stuffed chicken breasts are out of this world.Super friendly staff.They will be getting very regular business from our family.Well Done PCM!!

Asked a question while she was ringing us up and was told we were rude for doing so. Her excuse was she didn't want to mess up the order. LMAO, that's great service for you.

Got this place to butcher half a cow for us, they charged us for 510 lbs of meat and after weighing the entire package. We ended up with barely 180 lbs of meat. Either they are thieves or mediocre , not my place to judge. With the price of the bull every pound I got was more expensive than a slab of sirloin. Never buy there. Don't do business there. Your meat will cost you over 10$ for ground beef a pound.

Always a great time at Pure Country Meats. If you like meat, you'll love this place. Grab a few boxes of frozen steak, some back bacon, fresh eggs and get ready for some high quality eats. Steaks are individually vacuum sealed and are great for packing into a cooler to take camping, trailering, or to the cabin. Thanks for being so awesome.

So glad we have this great business in town. Awesome selection of meats and great prices. Their cold smoked meats are amazing! I wish the jerky meat or method allowed the meat to be more tender. The flavors are great, but your jaw gets sore chewing on the leathery meat used. Pretty minor complain really. It’s a wicked store and it’s the only place I get my meats.

Best place for meat for the family (and for your fur babies) for both quality and price! The freezer pack bundle meats are the best bang for your buck. Staff is very friendly and helpful and they go the extra mile for you. I ordered a large family freezer meat bundle and they ran out of the pork loin but substituted it for a expensive large chuck roast. We've been happy clients for 3 years now, thanks guys!

I absolutely love their spicy pork jerky. Its a shame that it was so hard to come by during covid. Teriyaki is a good secondary pick though. Overall they have a nice selection of meats. Although i mostly just went there for jerky and the occasion package of smokies.

I wish I could give zero stars. The meat they returned to me was 44% of the carcass weight of an over finished cow. either they were selling some of my cuts in their store or they are so inept they left 15-20% of the meat on the carcass. Take your cows anywhere else, it will save you money and unneeded frustration.
