I would give less than 1 star if I could. If you're staying in dorms and you have any difficulty with the laundry, the Residence Services staff will not help you. I had trouble with the laundry card they issued me, and when I asked for help, they told me to call the company. After a half hour on the phone with someone at the company that I could barely hear for the noise of the call centre they were working in, they told me the card was defective. They were nice enough to offer me a refund for the purchase price of the card ($10), which they are mailing to me by cheque (not ideal, but I'll take it). I went back to the residence offices to get a new card and they told me to go buy one a machine in a different building, even though I originally got the card there (and the UVic Residences website says they sell the cards there). Keep in mind these cards cost $10, and the minimum amount you can put on the card is $10, and one load of laundry costs $1.90. In the end, I found a card machine myself, bought a new card, and got it to work, so they were absolutely no help and only made my experience worse. The whole ordeal took over an hour to sort out.TL;dr: Do yourselves a favour and do your laundry at a laundromat. It may be more of a pain to do it off-campus, but with the attitude and run-around I got from the residence staff, it's worth it.UPDATE: the company never sent me the cheque refund in spite of requesting my personal mailing information.

It says it’s open 24/7 and when I needed to go, they were closed (on weekday). I went there at 6:30am and they were locked, the sign on the door said ‘will be back at 7’. I waited an hour and went back at 7:20 am and it was still locked and no one else was there. I ringed the doorbell two times and they did not come out. Now it’s 7:40 and there is no one still. Why are staffs here being paid for not showing up when it clearly says it’s open 24 hours. It’s useless

The booking and policies are clear. The staff are professional and welcoming. July 2013: Due to construction near the office the visibility of the entrance is reduced and the route to the office might have a detour. Construction activity currently starts at 8 am near the offices and adjacent residences, and as the website notes, there may be dust and noise during construction hours.
