The Puppy Tutor

Magic and I just finished our 5 puppy sessions with Leslie. She is an amazing teacher who incredibly knowledgeable about dog training. Her games based approach and her philosophy that you and your dog are a team make training fun for both of us. She follows up each session with very clear notes that I have referred to many times and will continue to do so. I highly recommend The Puppy Tutor!

Leslie is amazing! She is so knowledgeable, responsive, pleasant and easy to work with and has made our experience of getting through the early puppy days so easy. People tell us how well behaved our dog is all the time! Being from Waterloo, all of our sessions were virtual. I was impressed how incredibly effective this model was. The ability for her to show us techniques with her dogs in addition to ours was a real plus. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.

Leslie is a wonderful trainer with positive, creative ideas for every situation or struggle you might be having with your puppy. I love how she empowers you to learn how to tackle training skills with positive confidence. Great feedback with direction is one of her greatest assets which will help you move towards owning the companion you always dreamed of!

Absolutely fabulous experience. Leslie was amazing with our dog (and us). She had so many fun games that helped with training, even the kids were able to participate in the process. The follow up recap emails were also great for the things that my tired Mom brain would forget in between visits. We tried two other trainers before and accomplished way more with Leslie's guidance and in less time. Would highly recommend

Leslie is a fantastic trainer. She truly understands dogs and helps you understand their thinking and how to train and establish a strong bond with your pup. We have taken other in-person trainings sessions with a few other places, but none of them compared to training with Leslie. She has taught us things that we never considered (ex. Things to help your dog have fear-free and successful visits to the vet). We have recommended her to several folks already, and plan to take more courses with her in the future!

George and I have been meeting with Leslie every two weeks since he came home at 8wks old. George is a chocolate lab and when I would tell people I was getting him the shock on their faces was enough to worry me... however with the information and guidance that Leslie has provided Virtually while we are in my home has been invaluable. I take George around with me to friends homes, to the bank, the office, in the car and to visit with my grandchildren. He is such a good boy and well behaved around elderly and younger people. Leslie taught me that identifying signs of anxiety in George when he is young and working through it with him is helping him be confident in all kinds of situations. George is 4.5mths old currently, we are still working on the big tree across the road which waves at him but it's a work in progress :) I would recommend Leslie to any of my friends that are thinking about getting a puppy--- working with George one on one instead of in a puppy class setting has been the best thing I have done for him. Thank you Leslie for the training lessons, the detailed notes that I use daily when I need a refresher and for being an amazing resource for myself and George.

Leslie is an outstanding trainer, of both pups and their owners. We feel honoured to have worked with her. Intelligent, highly organized and as a trained vet tech she bring you value far beyond one might anticipate. Our KC Cavalier is a joy, still learning and we use Keslies extensive notes to keep in track. I cannot say how highly our family recommend The Puppy Tutor.

We just finished the five classes of puppy training with our dog. It turned out to be much more than we expected. Leslie is very knowledgeable and patient. We all got so much value out of this training, we learned so much about dog behaviours, and now have the tools moving forward. We have been able to teach our dog so many skills that has him being a calm and respectful pup. I was hesitant to work via Zoom but it worked out so well!!!

I met Leslie about 6 1/2 years ago when I had a Ridgeback puppy. She was instrumental in helping me turn my puppy into a well rounded, socially responsible dog. I enjoyed my sessions so much that I am working with Leslie again with my current puppy. Leslie has a keen dog sense and I am learning so much! I highly recommend The Puppy Tutor.
