Monte Lake Resort Campsite and RV Park

This place was just what we needed! So my gf and I have departed on our adventure from Vancouver to Saskatoon, and wouldn't you know it, the main highway shut down (or so it said on Google Maps), due to forest fires, which forced us to sway off course.We were tired and hungry and in need of rest. Luckily for us, this place turned just up the road and we made the decision to stop. Best decision of the trip!After setting up our tent and paying for the night (BRING CASH FOLKS), we went down to the Entertainment Center to ask for directions to a nearby eatery. Instead of simply pointing us in the right direction, the brothers (owners of this camp) have fired up the clay stove, which had already been shut off for the night, to reheat the left-overs from the birthday celebration that took place earlier that night. We had the most amazing food to fill our stomachs that night, including the delicious in-house baked corn bread.Everyone in the camp was extremely warm and welcoming. We were happy to find out that this resort was started about a decade ago in hopes of giving ordinary people a place to get together by the lake and feel like a family.We are very glad to have come across such wonderful people on our journey and will definitely try to stay here again when passing through.Egor & Karley

My wife and I had a reasonably good time here. One thing is for certain, both the owners and the regulars on site are very friendly and helpful. As it turns out most of the people here have been coming for many years, that alone speaks volumes. However, the highway is quite close and it isn't very peaceful, especially for tent camping. It was a little pricy, but there is also free use of the beach and dock across the highway, decent bathrooms, and outdoor kitchen included in that price.

Overview: I’ve grown up camping in RV’s and tents. This was not a relaxing or enjoyable experience. The title “Resort” is used rather loosely in the title for this RV park. The extended family who owns the property tries to be there on weekends to spend time together. It seemed they were just using us to help pay for the cost of having property by the lake that they could enjoy, and weren’t concerned about making things better for paying customers.Breakdown: Needed a place to stay for a nearby large family reunion so my mother-in-law made reservations here for 15 people. We rented 4 trailers and one tent site" between all of us. Here is some of our experience:•Were told 2 of the rental trailers would have AC. Upon arrival only 1 trailer had AC we could use. The other ones had it but 4 different trailer sites shared a 30amp circuit; we were told it would overload the circuit and not to use it.•Fan in bathroom broken•Toilet not fully secured to floor (rocked when sitting on it)•Faucet in kitchen leaked all over counter•Mattress springs could be felt

Best campground around. Awesome group kitchen, pizza dome and live entertainment. Our campsite was great with a nice view and wonderful neighbors. More power to you Monica, you are doing a super job

Great Campground. There's a nice beach/ picnic area across the highway. It's a little sketchy getting across, but otherwise perfect Campground for families.

Came as Tourists, staying forever. Love Monte Lake Resort. Owners are welcoming, residents are friendly and diverse, the Lake is beautiful and fishing is awesome. We are glad we found this Resort.

Hands down some amazing people. So accommodating especially on short notice. Spent 2 awesome days camping and we loved everything about it. Will definitely recommend and will definitely be back for more camping with them this summer. Thank You All The Staff

I've never had a warmer, friendlier welcome to a campsite than I recieved at this place. Monica is a great host, and I'd go back just for that. It is a bit noisy by the highway, but everything else is tip top. Clean, nice layout, good times.

30$/night for a tent. Shower is 2$. Nice campground with interesting tent spots, but too close to the highway and its noisy logging trucks traffic. Access to the lake across the road is refreshing ! Nice grassy beach.
