Not a great beginner class. I have never ridden a motorcycle or any kind of bike before. I was rushed through some of the courses and not completed them. the office lady was more concerned about me requesting a refund (which I never mentioned, was not my intent)then offering me ways to be successful in riding a motorcycle. Not a great experience, will try another business to learn to ride next spring.

As a brand new rider with no experience Mike, Scott and Karen were great instructors. They were professional, knowledgeable and constructive with all their feedback, hints and helpful techniques. Highly recommend taking a course with AB Safety Council. Their attention and approach to providing you with the necessary skills while ensuring your safety was second to none.

Course was overall very informative, I learned a lot from this course. The instructors are very kind and also very respectful of all skill levels. I learned a lot of safety techniques in the course and I will apply them for the rest of my riding career!

I took the Gearing Up Course for beginners. This course took me from never riding a bike to having an in depth understanding of the fundamentals of operating a motorcycle. The instructors are fantastic at breaking down specific areas where improvement is needed with guided instruction and patience. I took the 3 days course then a couple of 2 hour classes. Now I'm riding my own Harley Davidson Sportster with enough confidence to attempt the class 6 road test using my own bike. Thanks to everyone all of the exceptional instructors and to Karen for all of her additional instruction and encouragement.Mare

I took my Motorcycle Essentials Course through these guys and boy howdy, would 100% recommend to anyone, any skill level, any experience level. The instructors were on the ball the time, provided an extensive amount of practice time to ensure we understood and could demonstrate each skill more than once and it was incredibly safe. The wealth of experience they brought to the table is invaluable, each of the 10 people on the course walked away with confidence to buy and safely ride a bike. I cannot say enough good things.

I took the Motorcycle Essentials course in the first half of May 2023. I had never been on a motorcycle, dirt bike, moped or anything of the sort before I took this course, not even as a passenger. I took this course, and passed my class 6 road test the day after it finished (although I don't recommend doing it with as little experience as I did).We had one main instructor for theory/classroom learning, and two additional instructors (three total) for the hands-on training. There were twelve people registered in the course I took. The course had a very comfortable mixture of classroom and hands on. Going in, I was concerned that there would be a lot of book learning that I wouldn't gain value from, but that wasn't the case at all. The classroom work was relevant and concise, with lots of real world experience being shared by the instructor. The majority of the time was spent outside with the bikes. There was no on-road component to this course, it is purely in their large parking lot learning skills. As I said earlier, I had never been on a bike before, but we started right from the beginning with how to start the bike, how to move without stalling, etc. The super basic skills didn't take long for the class to grasp, and we moved onto actual movement skills within an hour or so. At no point did I feel rushed, nor did I feel bored. We spent a lot of time building slow speed skills as a foundation, before moving on to road speed steering, and how to anticipate and react to emergency situations.I would absolutely recommend this course to anyone interested in it. I definitely feel like I have a very strong base of knowledge to build off as a new rider.

I've never been on a motorcycle before I attended the training. My instructors were patient with my level of knowledge. Lots of riding time mixed with some classroom time helped me pass the skills test at the end of the training.

Recently completed the Gearing Up beginner motorcycle course and have nothing but good things to say. Everything is done on their lot so there is no traffic experience gained, but this is an introductory skills-based course so this really isn't a downside. The instructors are knowledgeable and friendly, and the coaching that they provide to get you to learn the skills is well delivered and effective. The course itself is structured to keep a great pace for learning new skills in such a way that the slower learners aren't left behind and the faster learners aren't held back. The course ran smoothly with no wasted downtime during course setup.I would definitely recommend this course if it's going to be your first time on a bike.Bonus - they'll rent you a bike for your road test if you need one after passing the course.

Karen was amazing at answering my questions for the motorcycle essentials course!Dave & Clem made riding so easy and relaxed, a very nice balance of positive reinforcement and critiquing so you can have the confidence to get through the course. Didn't rush, and made sure I felt comfortable before pursuing a new lesson.Dan & Mike also helped out when our groups were mingled, and again, very positive and helpful.Scott is absolutely hilarious and brings a nice level of humor to the group, and again, helps build confidence where you need it and gives tips and pointers on how to ensure your safety and the safety of others. All in all, I would recommend to any and all, and will be back for more courses!Cheers!Nick

I took the beginner's Motorcycle Course here to prepare for my Class 6 license. The instructors and techniques taught here were excellent. I was able to pass my Class 6 because of their instruction (and my own practicing).
