XO Ice Cream & Waffles

Tried this place for the first time and it is a quaint little shop that is to the point! Some unique flavors like the Elderflower Lemon Zest and Carrot Cake (both of which were quite tasty!). My partner chose cookie dough, which was nice and slightly different - almost like a hint of butterscotch to it. He also chose the Classic Sugar waffle, which he tells me was delicious (I cannot have gluten, but they smelled really yummy!). I tried the mint chocolate chip and Mini Eggs (which is like a nice malt chocolate with crushed mini eggs) in a split single scoop. I do not have a big sweet tooth, but enjoyed both of these together! We also opted to bring a few home for the next time we crave some. Pricing is fair and comparable to Marble Slab, but fewer, more specific choices, without all the toppings - which is great if you are the type to become indesicive when too many options are presented. All flavors are made in-house. Would recommend!

While visiting our son & family in Calgary, we followed his advice and popped in for an evening ice cream. Are we ever glad we did! As we opened the door the wonderful waffle fragrance greeted us at the door. After choosing our flavours (1 scoop is plenty!) we enjoyed the best ice cream ever! The best part was because all the ingredients are natural with no unnecessary additives, I was able to eat everything without any negative digestive side effects. My only regret is that they don’t have a branch in the Edmonton area!

I’m a very loyal to Village Ice cream however this place took me by surprise. I am obsessed with the hazelnut crunch. We got there at a good time, only 2 people ahead but by the time we sat down outside and finished, there was a huge line out the door. Will definitely be coming back to try new flavours.

From the moment you open the door, you can smell the sweet aroma bringing you back to waking up at grandma's house on a Sunday morning. The mouth watering waffles not only look delicious, but taste as good as they look. I had the sour cherry milkshake, and it was to die for. The hand-made milkshake from natural ingredients was loaded with chunks of delicious cherry. A take away pint of almond-Skor hit the spot later that evening for a yummy dessert. Well worth the drive!! They have over 20 mouthwatering flavours, some staples, some unique and interesting seasonal mixes. Something for everyone...including dairy free and vegan. They have all flavours available in cute take away pint boxes.

It's been years since I've had the competition but I'm going to boldly say this was better than Made By Markus, Marble Slab and My Favorite Ice Cream Shop.The ice cream wasn't just flavored. It was blended with the item that it was named after. Banana cream pie had the exact taste of pie with graham crust and all. Hazelnut Crunch had so many hazelnut bits.The pistachio and Earl Grey we're both great too.

Great tasting ice cream, and really friendly service! We ordered a single strawberry cone, and a non-dairy honey cup. Both were excellent! I really recommend the honey flavour, it was really nice and summery. Also, one scoop is plenty!

Such a cute little spot! My husband and I stopped by here to cheer me up after a very hard and emotional day. It smells so good the second you walk in. I got the cinnamon bun and cookie dough ice cream. I didn't really like the cinnamon bun ice cream, it was too sour and not very cinnamon-y. But they do let you try the ice cream before you buy it, so that's my fault for not trying it. And everyone has different tastes so someone else might really like it even if I didn't. The waffles were super yummy. If I ever get a chance to come back I would love to try some of their other menu items!

A nice little neighborhood ice cream shop near some other amenities in Auburn Bay. The place is clean, but it pretty small. It's not bad when it's not busy but I can see some congestion issues once it gets warmer. Especially because there is no place to sit, inside or out, and not much room to stand indoors.Quality wise the food is pretty good, the ice cream, waffles and waffle cones are all made in house. Taste is on point, and portion to price ratio is pretty good. I hope they bring out more flavours though.Customer service was not bad, the sever was nice enough but wasn't enthusiastic, more reserved, as with the other staff. Didn't feel unwelcome, but didn't feel warmly welcomed either, but I'll chalk that up to opening jitters.Parking is plentiful, and access it pretty good. There are no washrooms though.Give these guys a fair shake!! Personally, I'll give them another visit when the weather is warmer and they get a little bit more established.

This ice cream shop is a small boutique style ice cream by the scoop desert stop. The ice cream is very good and high quality. The customer service was fantastic and the waffle ice cream combo is absolutely delicious. I had the cookies and cream waffle combo which did not disappoint! It’s a small hole in the wall where you order to go or sit outside. If you have a sweet tooth I suggest you give it a try!

Got to the store at around 9:15pm today (June 20), we were a group of 7. Before we walked in, we could see a blonde lady cleaning the counters, probably in preparation for closing (10pm) which is fully understandable! When we got in, I smiled at the blonde lady with glasses in a grey hoodie, and was met with nothing in response and she instead went to her co-worker and made a comment about us showing up near closing with such a large group (again 7 of us - and 45 minutes until closing). This is a place I frequent often and this is not the first time I’ve encountered this staff member with such a hostile attitude. She also gave us a bitter look when we told her we weren’t ready to order 1 minute after we walked into the store. You may want to reassess your closing times if your staff members don’t want to serve customers after 9! It’s a shame one staff member can ruin a place that serves great ice cream.
