Jade Valley Chinese Restaurant
You don’t survive for 27 years and through a pandemic crisis without bringing something special to the table. A fantastic family-run restaurant since the early 1990’s when I started coming here. Came back after more than a decade today and the service and food are still exceptional and lived up to my nostalgic memory. Five Stars! Try it for yourself.

I’ve ordered take out/delivery from here alot of times with no issues. I went to eat in person on Easter Sunday & we got the dinner for 4 which was $89 for wonton soup, sweet & sour pork, beef chop suey, pork fried rice, chicken chow mein & deep fried prawns.The wonton soup was unfortunately riddled with small bugs. At first I thought it was black pepper specks until I analyzed a speck & noticed it had antenna’s and legs. This made my company look in their bowls & they saw the same thing in theirs. Definitely from the bok choy.The prawns had the black veins in them which is a sign they do not clean the prawn before frying them.I was a regular but I do not know if I’ll ever order from here again. Quality has gone down & extremely low sanitary standards as they clearly don’t wash/clean their ingredients.I will say, prior to seeing the “black specks” in wonton soup or the veins in prawns….. the food was good. Theres potential but they need to do better.

This is exactly what you expect to see when you order Chinese takeout. The food wasn't greasy and the portions were exceptional. We ate so much yet it doesn't look like we put a dent in the chow mein or rice! I ordered the dumplings (potstickers) which were filled with pork, comes with soy sauce packets. Very tasty. I also ordered the black pepper chowmein (no meat) and asked for it to be EXTRA spicy and wow, it was FIRE!! In a good way!! The pork fried rice is just a classic, one of my favs. Lastly, I was very pleased with the spicy dry garlic spareribs. It had a certain flare to it, I am going to think maybe chinese 5 spice???Regardless, everything was well packed, no grease, no soggyness. The woman who took my order over the phone was very easy to speak with and accommodating, very refreshing as usually when you call somewhere ppl are unfriendly or seem to be in a rush. I will definitely be ordering this again!!

I’ve been ordering from Jade Valley for over 20 years. The food is always good. Today we was shocked. Portion sizes for everything was smaller and the prices have gone up. One or the other please. So disheartening. All of us are in a budget. We want to support small business but this was out of control.

Prices are very high. Food is ok. Can’t get food without MSG. Asked for our chow-mein to be crispy. Apparently here that means raw. Would not recommend or go back.

I have been going to jade valley many years & their food have always been excellent. Like another reviewer mentioned here, they have increased the price which is understandable. However they have reduced the size of the portions which is disappointing. I won’t be going there anymore. With the increased price , they would have at least kept the portion sizes as same as it was before the increase. Not fair & poor business practice.

We were initially deterred by the reviews but we’re so glad we decided to go anyway. Amazing quality food! Not greasy. The flavours were amazing. The ginger beef was perfectly spicy. The prices are higher than an average Chinese restaurant, but well matched for the amazing service, quality food, and overall ambiance.

Would have thought I'd written a review for this before. This place has been around for a while and with good reasons.. the food is goood! The price is a bit more of the $$ but can't beat the quality. The service always friendly and food always good.

Best Chinese food we have had in a long time. My husband and I took our kids here and dined in. While portions were smaller than I expected (not sure if it’s less when dining in vs take out) it still fed all 4 of us. We got the dinner for 3, and added a vegetable chow mein and a sweet and sour chicken. So good! This is our new go-to when we have a craving. The service was exceptional; bang on in their timing and so friendly!

If I could give negative 5 I would. I have ordered from Jade Valley for at least 5 or more years, and told many friends and clients about their yummy food. The place looks a wreck, but the food was always good.Today I was told they won't deliver to my area any more. Too far...that's it!! I always paid an additional fee of 3 to 5 dollars because I'm about 2 km outside of their 5k zone.I was always so glad they would deliver. It's very hard to get delivery here. We are basically New West, but they won't come over the bridge.So I'm stuck with just a few options when ordering for deliver, and now I find out that they just won't do it. Oh...that's not all! I had to order more than 4 dishes to even consider it. I live alone. Well this is how happy I was with that decision.Want good, but somewhat over priced Chinese food and you live within their little zone, go ahead and enjoy. For the rest of us...still waiting for something decent to eat here is Surrey. And hopefully ones that are willing to give excellent customer service, with a smile, and work hard to earn a good tip.Oh...wait a minute, it's 2023, and we no longer have good service, and the tip is already on the bill. But mentioning that is probably racist!
