A horrible experience and sorry excuse for a campground right in town beside a busy street. Sites were not level and some felt like the back of a creepy parking lot. No privacy at all and it appeared some people were living there. Many distractions and no pool or playground or anything for kids. Would never recommend. Would never return. We left a day early. Stay at Kokanee Creek if in the area. Oh and I forgot to mention, full of skunks and if your dogs bark, watch out, the permanent campers stay up all night so complain constantly about any noise during the day as they want to sleep all day. Horrible place.

We originally booked for 3 days then read all the negative reviews and dropped it to one night. Once we arrived we automatically booked for another night. Sites are fine, some better than others. We have a very nice site. Right in town so it is what it us. Convenient! Along with that comes some noise but we expected that. Showers/bathrooms could use a good cleaning/updating but we only used them to shower. I would stay again if passing through. Pretty neat little place. Enjoyed our stay.

Great campground in the city! Just a quick walk to Lakeside park, Baker Street, grocery shopping and more. The employees are so kind and friendly. The sites aren't super private but we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Bathrooms were clean and are accessible by a lock code that changes frequently.

Not as bad as many on the reviews make it out to be. The sites are small and cramped, with neighbours often very close to you. However, the sites are well maintained and the washroom/shower facility, while old, is fairly clean and works well.In my opinion, the RV campground in Nelson is equivalent to hostel life. There is a main area for people to hang out, wash their dishes, do some laundry etc.. You’re cramped in with many other drifters/travellers.This is Nelson after all, the hippy lifestyle is all around and the RV campground is very fitting into that.Would stay again if needed to while passing by, likely wouldn’t do more than 1 night again.

it's right in the center of Nelson easy access to any amenities needed. it's looks like its been abused by party goers.

We were a little hesitant of this place due to the bad reviews but it truly wasn’t that bad at all. Free showers, free wifi, laundry available. Power and water sites available. I think peoples expectations maybe are a little high. They definitely cram you in there pretty tight and it is kinda noisy due to being right in the city. The 5 am train was a bit annoying. It seemed like it was in a bit less desirable location with some run down homes and questionable folks in the area but I think that’s just Nelson hahah. Nobody bothered us. The staff were all really nice and friendly. Although the host was yelling at someone once about their idling vehicle but I didn’t overhear the whole debacle.I would rate this place 3.5 out of 5 if you have realistic expectations. Definitely not deserving of all the super negative reviews. It could use an overhaul yes and the layout could be improved but hey if people are still paying and they’re full, why would they change anything?

Features are oversold. Not optimal for larger campers. Not all sites will properly accommodate them. Our 30' 5th wheel barely fit, and the site (#6) was anything but level. The beach within walking distance" is true

Super convenient location, we could walk to restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Great views despite being right in the city! The shared facilities were clean and stocked and we were so grateful the water was super hot right away! Great option for staying right in town

Writing in for elderly friends that came to visit us who stayed at the site. There were junkies high on substances walking through the campground and nearby yelling at all times of the day and night. Our friends were aiming to stay a week at the location. After one night they decided to move to Kokanee Creek campground as they felt extremely unsafe. Never again recommending the city campground to any friends or family coming to town.
