Tofino Surf School

My boyfriend and I booked a private lesson because we already took a beginner group lesson not long ago, and it was awesome to be just the 2 of us with our instructor Ben! My boyfriend and I aren’t quite at the same level, but Ben was spending time with each of us, giving us useful tips and pointing out things we should work on. We had a lot of questions and Ben was very knowledgeable and made us feel more confident for our future sessions!The private lesson really met our expectations, we would definitely do it again!

Carl was an amazing surf instructor! He was extremely patient and very enthusiastic. 10/10 would recommend!

We enrolled our kids into Tofino Surf School during our vacation in Tofino this Summer. We had Kai as the instructor and he was very informative, patient, kind, and respectful to the kids.Although this was the first time the kids have gone surfing, they were able to stand and surf the waves within the first hour.Kai was very encouraging to the kids and they had a lot of fun. After the class was over the kids didn't want to leave and asked us if we can buy them a surfboard!

Riven was excellent with our boys!! Very dedicated to teaching them good technique, keeping them safe and helping them to love surfing! It was the best part of our vacation!! He is an incredible instructor and so patient and kind to his students! Thank you Tofino Surf School for such a wonderful time at the beach!

We booked our private lesson far in advance. We received an email 4 days prior stating a storm was expected and we may be cancelled. We then received an email the day before confirming that our lesson was cancelled in anticipation of the weather.I would normally completely understand that weather is out of anyone’s control, however in this situation I think they just didn’t want to take us out. We were extremely lucky that Surf Sisters had space for us in their lesson that day instead. We had a great 3 hours in the water and the weather cleared up to full sunshine. There was no reason for this school to cancel on us before even seeing how the weather was the day of. Super disappointed that they caused us the stress of finding a new lesson. Wouldn’t book with them again. Not reliable.

We had such an awesome time. Jeff was awesome with helping us come up with a plan for a couples lesson so one of us could be on the beach with our baby while the other was in the water.It was my first time surfing and my partners 2nd, and Raf was an incredible instructor. He had us both up standing on our boards within 5 minutes of getting out there and kept the vibes going the whole lesson, showing us new tricks and giving us all the tips we needed. Can't say enough good things about this place. Thank you guys!

I did a lot of research prior to choosing a company to have surf lessons with. Tofino Surf School did not disappoint. Raf was a super rad guy and really made us feel safe and ready to catch a wave. I signed up alone for a lesson (my friend wanted to do yoga instead) and felt super welcomed in our group lesson. We had 5 in our group. Each one of us got up at least once! The wetsuits kept us warm and they made sure the boots and gloves fit before we headed out to the beach. We had dry land instructions/tips first which were very helpful. I felt super confident hitting the water and was able to get up multiple times no problem. Beautiful day and had such a fun time. Would highly recommend Tofino Surf School! Affordable too! I will be back for another lesson when I'm back later this year. Thank you! Thank you!

we had anna as an instructor and she was friendly, personable, helpful and supportive in both teaching and encouraging us as beginners! we managed to stand up and catch some awesome waves and the 3 hours went by in a flash! group lessons are great value even as a couple!
