Straits View Cafe
Very friendly people at Kelsey Bay. No marine gas as cruising quide suggests. Excellent place to eat at Marina with reasonable prices. We are moored at the dock and we are rocking and rolling.

Absolutely amazing food and coffee. Had the bacon chicken burger with beef-barley soup. Excellent experience in every way (staff, food, atmosphere).

A lovely café with one of the best coconut cream pies I've ever had: sorry mum. A gorgeous view on top of the fantastic food. Friendly, prompt service.

Rode our motorcyles up from Courtenay.Glad we stopped in for lunch. Does serve bottle beer. The food menu was awesome.The clam chowder was the best I've ever had.Lots of pies for desert. Cinnamon rolls were bigger than my hands. Awesome milk shakes. And let's not forget the views.Facilities does have a laundry.So put it on your list.

Straits View Cafe
I visited this charming cafe / restaurant yesterday with a group of biking friends - there were nine of us in all and despite all of us descending on the place unexpectedly, the service was second to none. The waitress was friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. I had cod and chips and the cod was so tender it was to die for. It just melted in the mouth. Very tasty and I would go back there at the drop of a hat.

The Halibut burger is incredible and the fries are made in-house and fresh. Everything is hot and tasty and the service is quick. You can't beat the view. Definitely worth the drive out there.

Stopped in for some coffee, but it was so cozy and welcoming inside, and the food smelled great so we stayed for lunch too. Great menu offering Ocean Wise seafood, most of it from Kelsey Bay, with reasonable prices. Two of us shared the seafood platter, battered cod, halibut, oysters, and shrimp on fries with slaw, tartare, and cocktail sauce. Homemade cooking with good food, it was all so delicious. Fish perfectly cooked in a fluffy batter, and the oysters were unreal, so fresh and delicate in a crisp potato chip coating. The best fried oysters we have had! Service very prompt and friendly. And of course, amazing views.

Had lunch at the Straits View Cafe and was more than delighted with the food, service and setting! If you are in this neck of the woods on Vancouver Island, do yourself a favour and stop by. The lemon blueberry cake is to die for. If I wasn't riding a motorcycle I would have taken the whole cake home with me .. it was that delicious!
