Camp Bow Wow

I can’t say enough good things about CBW. I have two furbabies that love going there. As soon as you drive on the road into their location it starts,with the dogs barking with excitement and can’t wait to get into Camp. As soon as they enter the doors John and Maureen and the staff, start with the love and attention. We are very picky where we take our dogs. We tried the home sitters and other facilities but no comparison to Camp.The dogs are tired and happy when they come home at the end of the day. Also I love that I can jump online and see our babies at any point during the day. I would highly recommend CBW!

Camp Bow Wow is our Daisy’s home away from home and we are so grateful for the staff here and for the TLC she receives while in their care. Daisy - a senior, 3-legged Shepherd — has stayed here 4 times in the last year since we moved to Halifax, her first visit being for 7 whole weeks(!!) as our house was being completed. John and Maureen have gone more than just ‘above and beyond’ in looking after our girl — they treat Daisy as though she were their own and we don’t hesitate to entrust them with accommodating Daisy’s needs and limitations. Daisy unfortunately had to stay in another local kennel recently, and she came home a traumatized shell of the dog she was when we dropped her off. It was 5 days before she would eat again and willingly leave the porch to do her business. We were terrified that she’d been ruined for kennel stays, but her stay at Camp Bow Wow again this weekend has reminded us that this place is a GEM. I can’t even express in words how comforted we feel knowing Camp Bow Wow will treat our dog exactly as she is treated at home. You are doing yourself and your dog a disservice by choosing any establishment other than Camp Bow Wow, Halifax. Thank you, John and Maureen and staff, for your love and devotion to our dogs.

Maeve and I love Camp Bow Wow. She is always happy to go, whether for daycare or a pajama party. John and Maureen are knowledgeable owners and pay special attention to every camper.

My girl, Sadie loves Camp Bow Wow in Dartmouth. John and his staff are wonderful with her and she starts squealing when we hit Portland Street because I swear she can smell it!We are so fortunate to have such a great and safe place for our girl to go. Sadie cant wait to come for her next visit!

John, Maureen and the rest of the staff are great and super accommodating. My dog gets excited and goes and sits by the door whenever I say the word BowWow." Booking camps and boarding is easy on the app and response times are always fast."

I like that you take each dogs needs into consideration. I brought in a nervous pup and she was gradually introduced to other small dogs. I like that there is access to the outdoors. I especially like that the staff take the time to pet, and play with the dogs. I like Camp Bow Wow.

I was nervous about how camp bow wow would go for our galgo Django / he’s an anxious dog and is reactive on leash so I really wasn’t sure he’d be a good fit. But John and the other staff were very reassuring and explained how gradual his introduction to the other dogs would go and of course he got along great. We were very thankful for their patience and professionalism and look forward to his next stay there in a month or so! PS it meant a lot that they still remembered our late dogs Rhoda and Rafter, who were frequent campers there - many years ago now!

Always a pleasure to have our pups stay at Camp! I love watching them play on the cameras and it’s so nice to see the staff giving all the love, attention , scratches and cuddles while their parents are away.My pups always come home super tired and the complimentary bath after a few nights is a wonderful touch.

We had our two dogs at Camp Bow Wow for 5 days while we were out of town and made our plans to get them home and straight in the tub after a long week and were so pleased to find that when we picked them up they had been freshly bathed and their blankets we sent in with them were freshly washed!
