Homestyle food in a cozy, colorful atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu is unique, featuring west coast food with a Persian flare. I aspire to become a regular!

The Bee's Knees Cafe
Paid $8 for an iced matcha latte which was very good but $8. I was going to get a cinnamon bun but it was $6 and looked kinda sad so I didn’t. Then the machine asks if you would like to leave a 15%, 20%, or 25% tip. The people working there came off as cold, unfriendly. Didn’t smile back when I entered. Zero reply when customers thanked the barista warmly. The furniture is uncomfortable, and the Wi-Fi is amazingly slow.

The Café is so beautiful and comfortable. Adasi soup here reminded me my mother’s recipe. I haven’t had lentils soup for 2 years since I moved to Canada. I am so glad to be here. You gotta try this Persian traditional food here.

First visit to the Bee's Knees, and I immediately understand the name: the place is perfectly decorated and the food and drinks are to die for. The breakfast wrap (pictured) included egg+cheese, tomato, and spinach. The eggs were fully and beautifully integrated with the cheese; probably the best breakfast wrap in the city. The London Fog and Carmel Macchiato (both pictured) were true class, not too sweet. Will absolutely be back again and again.

Just moved in across the street and decided to pop over and check out the cafe. Awesome service, muffins and great atmosphere. They have beautiful plants too.Will make this my weekly tea and muffin stop for sure.

We stopped by here on a whim and they did not disappoint. The coffee was great and they have other amazing drinks as well. They make their chai in house and the rose chai was delicious, just be warned it does not come sweetened unless asked for. Their pastries were also good, especially their banana chocolate chip muffin. The service was also incredibly pleasant!

Had a delicious, grilled wrap with the tastiest pesto sauce and fresh veggies. The peanut yam stew was delightful as well and the portions more than ample - I ended up taking half the wrap to eat on my hike later, along with a savory spinach cheese scone that was wonderful the next day heated up with my breakfast.All very carefully & freshly prepared dishes with great flavors / textures, fantastic value and such a nice family too. The patio and interior are lovely as well. There seems to be plenty of nearby street parking (I'm not clear on whether it's ok to park in the lot next to it).I highly recommend a visit and I'll definitely come here over any of the places nearer the harbor whenever I'm transiting through Nanaimo!

The food as always was delicious.The staff was polite but not friendly.The quantity was shockingly small for the money charged including the 15% tip I gave for no table service.My wife and I ordered the veggie bowl with tofu and my wife declined the tofu and I said I would take her tofu portion. I received 8 small cubes of tofu and the polite staff said that was double. You have to be kidding, 4 small cubes would be a full portion. This is either not true or it only emphasizes the small portions served for top prices.I went home and had a sandwich.I have been a big fan over the years but this was very disappointing to see such a miserly serving for nearly $18.00 with tip and tax.I was not at all satiated when I departed.

Here for the first time, being from out of province. Morning sun with plenty of windows, very yummy scones and cinnamon buns with super cream cheese icing, good coffee and friendly vibes made a great visit. Love that they are closed on Sundays.So, 4th and last visit here -- now a photo. Gonna miss this place! ❤️ May the Bees Knees prosper on Third Street!
