I recently visited Shamrock Fish Store and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. As an avid consumer of octopus, I have frequented various fish stores in the past, and one thing that has always been consistent is that they remove the octopus head upon request and weigh it separately. However, my experience at Shamrock Fish Store was quite different.When I asked the fish monger at Shamrock Fish Store to weigh the octopus without the head, he refused and insisted on weighing it with the head on first. He told me that if I wanted the head removed, they would have to weigh it first with the head on. This approach felt like an unnecessary grab for money, as it seemed to imply that the store was trying to charge me for the weight of the head, even though I did not need it.This refusal to accommodate my request and the perceived attempt to overcharge left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. As a customer who has purchased octopus from various fish stores, I believe that it is reasonable to ask for the head to be removed and weighed separately, as it is a common practice in the industry. The fact that Shamrock Fish Store did not comply with this simple request was disappointing and made me question their customer service and fairness in pricing.As a result of this experience, I have decided not to return to Shamrock Fish Store in the future. I value transparency and fair pricing when it comes to my seafood purchases, and I did not feel that my concerns were adequately addressed at this store. It is unfortunate that I have to seek out other options for my octopus purchases, as I had hoped to establish a long-term relationship with Shamrock Fish Store. However, based on this experience, I cannot recommend them to others who are looking for reliable and customer-friendly fish mongers.

Love coming here for sashimi! Their employees are great at suggesting what fish you'll want to get if you'd like to consume it raw. They have a great selection of fresh seafood. We also always end up getting a few scallops (which can also be eaten raw). Much cheaper than ordering sashimi from a restaurant. They also help you remove the skin so it's ready for you to slice at home.We've been here several times and never had issues with the fish they've given us--great quality!

I buy organic salmon at Shamrock Fish Ltee. There is a good selection of other fish and seafood. It's worth the trip to check out their variety of product.

After going to two other fish stores at Jean Talon market, I finally found what I was looking for at Shamrock: smoked salmon with little to no bloodline. Yes it's more expensive but the quality and freshness is totally worth it!

The best place to buy fresh fish and see food. There is also section offering spices and lemons. Customers can have their fish cut/ cleaned. Strict hygiene regulations are in place.
