We were at a different restaurant the day before and noticed Costa Sorrento. Being a fan of Italian food, we decided to make reservations for the following day. Really nice atmosphere with super friendly hosts. It took us a while to decide on the menu, but with help from our host we tried something new.

We came to dinner at this restaurant with a large group, for a company function to celebrate an important event.The decor, lighting and interior design look prestigious with a nice display of the bar. Music was not too loud. Great first impression. Right off the bat, my level of expectations has set a bar that everything else is now measured against.Service was comparable to that of a hotel when you check-in. What can I do for you instead of - I know why you are here and I want to take you on a fine dining experience that I want you to remember.Is mediocre customer service the new standard? Don’t get me wrong. Service was not particularly bad, but remember the bar that I set?I am using the opinion of my colleagues to blend in mine to produce a weighted average for this rating.Food was good generally. This is Italian cuisine and I like their website statement “We bring the flavours of Italy right to your table”. I am no Italian food critic but I take comments from colleagues of Italian roots, who know one or two things about Italian fine cuisine. Restaurant is trying hard to deliver authentic Italian dishes.I love the fish which was a whole grilled Adriatic sea bass, the taste, the way most of the spines were removed and how it was presented.I also like the ricotta pear cake - delicious although the ricotta should have been more fluffy.A review is not entirely complete if the washroom has not been inspected. I went in one of the unisex washrooms which I hope is representative of the three washrooms.Not too bad, relatively clean, but slightly disappointed not seeing a washroom that would give me that level of confidence of sanitization. Apart from the auto faucet and the Dyson Airblade hand dryer which is a great start, some touchfree washroom product automation would have been nice to see.

Mussels have sand, when I ate it my mouth was full of sand, instead of cooking me a new one or wave it off the bill they said they will give me desserts which I refused because the dessert doesn’t worth anything. Anyway I still gave 15% tips only because they have a live singing show around, which I really regret about it, they just took the bill from my boyfriend with no manner. Food flies was all around the restaurant and this is my second time coming back here, first time was Friday this week, so don’t order their seafood or the special big platter l, because all of their seafood are not clean properly, fishy and mudge!!

First time visit an Italian restaurant at Dt Markham. Experience was suprisingly incredible! Every dish was outstanding, carefully thought out and presented, very clean and deliberate flavors. We loved Spigola e Risotto. Rice was very creamy and deliciously cooked with tomato spicy sauce. The whole grilled seabass was a particular highlight of this dish. The fish was so juicy, boneless and marinated so well with seafood sauce which doesn't taste fishy at all. The daily special platter which comes with lamb, octopu, shrimp, steak, mix of vegetables were seven more amazing and lovely! We were so amazed by the idea of mixing all kinds of seafood and meats! This is an absolutely must-have dish that no one should miss and is phenomenal for sharing! They probably would taste even better with some freshly squeeze lemon jucie for those who are obessessed with scent of freshness with their seafood. Would definitely check out again next time to try their desserts.

A Friday night dinner, an occasion, or a celebration, Costa Sorrento is always our first option and it never disappoints. The food inspiration comes straight from Sorrento, Italy. Restaurant ambiance is charming. The wine selection is for anyone from beginner to enthusiast, check the selection out! The best of all is the staff, everyone is friendly and helpful, don't forget to ask for Mark!

From atmosphere, to food, to service- this place is awesome. They check in on you the right amount. The food is so good. One of the best Italian places in Markham! I would come back again and definitely recommend!

We had dinner there 2 times, both times were great. The atmosphere, the food, the decor, the service are all great. We had a great time dinner there. We ordered pasta, pizza to desserts. They were all above expectation. The staffs were friendly and gave good recommendations. Definitely recommend this restaurant for family, birthday and friends gathering there.

Been to this restaurant when it first opened, did not have a good experience then. Came back to give it a try few years later and it was a much better experience, food, drinks, service have improved drastically.We had appetizer platter, pizzas, pasta, and finished with a tiramisu as desert. All were fresh and delicious, service was excellent, I would recommend this restaurant for someone enjoys fairly authentic Italian food.

Upon hearing good things and reading all the good reviews, I decided to go here to celebrate my husband's birthday. My experience was really underwhelming considering all the good reviews this restaurant received. The food tasted mediocre, everything was overpriced. We came here on a weekday, and my initial experience with the waiter was that he was dismissive and inattentive. It was our first time there, and we asked the waiter if he had any recommendations, while we appreciated his suggestion for our two-year-old son, no further care was given to introduce anything on the menu or their daily specials. I also felt like he was slightly discriminating toward the Asian clientele at the restaurant for I saw different treatment given to people of Asian descent versus Caucasian. (Disclaimer, this could just be how I was made to feel, but not his true intentions). In the end, we ordered 2 pizzas (a red and a white), and a veal. The pizzas were alright with the truffled mushroom one tasting a bit bland. I would not recommend ordering the veal as it came in thin slices with a few boiled vegetables on the side. Aside from the main course, the desserts were good, ordered the tiramisu, Roche, and affogato. It took a while for us to get our bill in the end, I had requested the bill, but the server took his sweet time making drinks for another table. I was disappointed to discover that the value of the food and service we received did not match what we were expecting. I don't think I would return and have an experience that I would not enjoy.
