Markham Road Apartments - 1050

Zero star if it can allow, every week water shut down, electricity shut down and elevator problems. Avoid renting this appartments, they only say sorry for inconvenience, but want rent on time. When say we won't pay rent they say will report to credit threats. They should be fined for harassment.

My beggist mistake renting over two years at 1050 Markham Road (Capreit Inc). My findings as under:1. Extremely cold unit during winter. I have several emails as proof that the temperature was lower the standard norms but no positive action taken. Inspection records available at their office. As a result I bought blankets and heater. Paid huge power bills. I met a person in the elevator he said he has been living at this building for many years and the unit is still cold.2. I signed up a month to month contract because I planned to move out. I informed the management over 42days advance notice but management said I have to notice at least 2months in advance. This is a genuine reason (cold unit...) for moving out but the management returned back to me stated I have to pay the losses until the management finds a new tenant because of short notice. Ended up contacting the tenancy board Government".3. Insecure and unsafe environment. For inStance: We had a parking spot outside the building but someone was able to open the car door and toke our stuff. Then we changed to basement parking.4. Very dirty basement

Its the worst place to live, Rent a basement instead, when its winter your kids will keep getting sick because you pay for heat and you get none.. and you can't use 2 space self bought heaters at a time, the whole light goes off, its a huge mistake and the fact that your paying for what you don't get, its extremely unfair.

They post misleading information on the rental website. I called in inquire about a 1 bedroom May 1st move in priced at $1575. The lady that picked up the call said the price has been changed to $1650. I suggest that the website should be updated to accurately reflect this information as to not mislead people.

Customer service is very bad, and during winter, the building is very, very cold, with no automatic door in the basement for handicapped. very expensive!

I Moved in Sept 2022 and on first day I saw lots of cockroaches in kitchen, bathroom and living area. Informed management about this and they did pesticides and no result. Informed them again and no action taken by them. Horrible experience on moving day. Now it is October and still heating is off.i see heating on for some time in 24 hrs but useless. I told management and they said it is centralized heating when temperature drops it’s automatically turned on but that was just excuse.i monitored temperature falling below 21 degree centigrade in night as well as day time in my temperature detecting clock. I asked other tenants and they have same heating problem. I have to wear extra clothes to keep myself warm. I am paying high rent but according to rent service is garbage. I think Management should listen tenants problems seriously.

lived here since 2018windows leak - heat goes on but still freezing - you have to buy your own portable heaters for every roomthe building management is terrible - i asked repeatedly to fix the toilets once i moved in and they said there was nothing wrong with them but the water does not go downthe building does service work around the clock without noticethey shut off the power and water multiple times every monththey do sloppy repair workroaches are an ongoing issue no matter what you do or how clean you livethey do not ever clean the windows from the outsideconstant issues with noisethey will paint and not leave the doors and windows open so all other units are forced to smell paint fumesfrequently smell strong chemical fumes inside the units despite complaintsneighbors will cook and open their unit doors leaving the halls flooded with cooking smellsheating turns on quite latethere is no air conditioning and you cant leave windows open because of pigeons crowding your filthy windowsunsanitarymanagement does not care to helpthey have a cleaning schedule posted on the main level but this schedule is not followed - more for just showbasement is dirtyelevators are dirtycarpets smell

Above good apartment. Is located at a place where everything feels close by. Better than the apartments in the vicinity.
