The Rock's Signal Bed & Breakfast

My girlfriend and I stayed at The Rock's Signal Bed and Breakfast for 4 nights to celebrate her 30th birthday and I feel very confident in saying that it would not have been the same if we had stayed anywhere else. Lisa was the ideal host and was extremely attentive and accommodating, but because she was so well prepared we rarely had to ask her for anything! She also had wonderful suggestions on restaurants, things to do and the best ways to get around the city which enabled us to plan the exact trip we wanted. The location is also awesome as it is a short walk from the main downtown strip. And on top of all of this her breakfasts and afternoon snacks are outstanding. I could not recommend this bed and breakfast enough and we will definitely be coming back whenever we visit St. Johns again.

This was a fabulous B&B in downtown St. John's. The hostess, Lisa is absolutely wonderful and it's clear she puts a lot of care and detail into both the bed and breakfast itself, and into caring for her guests. My husband and I stayed here for the first few nights of a two-week long trip, and it was without a doubt our favourite place we stayed. The breakfasts were healthy, hearty and delicious (honestly the best breakfasts we've ever had), and the homemade tea time treats were tasty as well. Our room was quiet, clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Lisa also had great suggestions of things to do in the area, as well as helpful tips for our trip across the entire island. The Rock’s Signal is like a home away from home, and while it's just a few minutes' walk from the shops and pubs on George Street and Water Street, I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a cozy place to stay in downtown St. John's.

My husband and I had a great experience at the Rock's Signal B&B. We stayed in the Lighthouse Suite. The room was amazing!! So many thoughtful, personal touches, like mini fridge, wine glasses, keurig coffee maker, chocolates, even an umbrella!!Lisa and Ron were so friendly & welcoming. They had helpful tips for restaurants to try out, local shops and places to visit. The breakfasts served were so creative, delicious and beautifully presented. Great location on Jellybean Row, walking distance to so many things. Very clean & well kept, we will definitely return. We highly recommend!!

The owner, Lisa, is so friendly. The breakfast was fabulous: parfait with fresh fruit, incredible omelet, real orange juice, home-made muffin! But the special treat was the home-made pastry at afternoon tea. Entire home was very clean and freshly painted. Has the quietist air-conditioning we've ever encountered. We're glad we read the earlier 5 star reviews here - they're absolutely right.

Writing this review from my daughters google account.My husband and I spent 3 nights here during our trip across Canada. The B&B is located in one of the jelly bean houses and has been lovingly restored. Lisa’s attention to detail is remarkable. In your room there is a pitcher of lemon cucumber water and chocolates. Every afternoon there is tea and home made baking. The breakfast was amazing, starting with a fresh parfait and then a delicious hot meal every morning. She made us feel very welcome and this was the nicest place we stayed at during our month long trip. We would highly recommend Rock Signals B&B.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay in this lovely and relaxing b&b. Although only a few minutes walk to downtown shops and restaurants, the location is very quiet and street parking easy to find right in front each night. Breakfasts were the best in our entire visit to NL and the recently renovated home was sparkling clean with everything from in-room refrigerator, chocolate, robes, tea, coffee, lemon infused water pitcher, comfortable bed and full-sized tub-show and comftable chairs for two in addition to a desk and chair. Lisa, our host made wonderful afternoon tea cakes and pastries and provided great recommendations for dining and sightseeing. Wish we could have stayed longer.

This is one if not the best B&B we ever stayed in! Lisa’s attention to detail is second to none. From the scrumptious breakfasts to afternoon tea treats to the spacious suite with king size bed. We enjoyed the soaker tub and bath robes not to mention the in suite laundry. I could go on and on. The location is amazing to the water front with so many restaurants and bars with live music. Anyone starting a B&B would do well to study Lisa’s eye for perfection.Well done Lisa!!

Lisa was the perfect hostess. She keeps The Rock's Signal immaculate & charming, and she makes sure her guests feel welcome. She has a heart of gold and is a very gifted cook & baker! My daughter and I had a fabulous time. We would love to return. Thank you so much, Lisa.

Our 4-night stay at Rock's Signal Bed & Breakfast was the perfect compliment to our Newfoundland getaway. Lisa has captured what we believe to be the essence of hospitality in this little gem in St. John's. We started off each day with a homemade breakfast, which included wholesome and yummy hot meals, Lisa's freshly-squeezed juice, and her own preserves. Afternoon Tea was waiting for us in the breakfast nook later on, and was the perfect treat to savour right away or as a midnight snack.The Lighthouse Suite was exemplary, merging luxury and comfort with maritime artistry and decor. The bed and pillows were like sleeping on a cloud, while the electric fireplace cast a warm, cozy glow around the room.Every tiny detail had been thought of, from the spa-style slippers to the little dish of wonders in the bathroom, which must have contained every possible acoutrement to address any forgotten toiletries. Even the placement of lighting and charging ports could not have been improved.Lisa was a gracious and welcoming host, and with her friendly presence helped make this trip one of the most memorable we have had. We couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in St. John's.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at The Rock's Signal B & B which is a newly renovated and updated row house on Jelly Bean Row, St John's NL. Check in was easy and we were greeted by the lovely host Lisa. The main area was warm and inviting. We enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea of home made cakes and equally delicious breakfast the following morning all prepared by Lisa from organic products. The bedroom was cozy and comfortable with lots of little extras like bathrobes and slippers, wine and chocolates and extra pillows and blankets. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.
