Sport Chek

The staff was super awesome at our recent visit. We called ahead to check their timings..we were 20 minutes away from closing and needed to get a hockey stick cut... the staff assured us it's ok to come in and the guy who cuts the sticks would stay back an extra 5 min and they dealt with us super nicely and waited until we got everything we needed. I'm so pleased by such awesome customer service by such young associates! Well done!!

Never anymore around and if there is they lookat you and walk away no clue how to interact with customers pretty bad

I'm shocked at all the people mentioning associates; I didn't know any one worked here aside from the cashier! I have come here 3 different times. The first time was the only time I left with anything. The only reason I was because after looking everywhere on the floor for headbands, I was walking out empty handed when the girl asked what I was looking for. The headbands were kept at the front so she could show me.Both other times? Different days of the week, and different time of day, 4 months apart. Both times someone greeted me at the door, didn't offer assistance. Something catches my eye, and when I have questions there's no one around. Change rooms are locked, of course, so you need to try and find someone.The store is helpfully organized by brand, however finding anything on sale is a lot more difficult than it should be. Coming from former customer service, maybe consider having more than two people working?

Went in to buy a bike for my wife, was told it would be 10-15 minutes to adjust the seat by a clerk who was too busy restocking shelves to help or get someone to help while there were very few customers in the store.

I've been here a few times..The associates are a hit or miss.Some of them are really nice, friendly and are willing to help. The other ones are eyeing me up as if I am a suspicious shopper..Makes the experience a bit uncomfortable.And they seem shocked when I go to check out with high priced items.And sometimes there is only one person on the floor and one person as the cash.It took forever for me to find someone to ask to get a fitting room.But when items are on clearance it's a really good deal.

The sales associates in the shoe area are spot on 5 stars, love the work ethic. I'm sorry this is not for anyone else in the store just specifically one person who has ruined my shopping experience. The one guy with the half sleeve on his right arm near the bike section, ZERO stars. No discrimination I have tattoos myself so it's not about the tattoos at all. I asked him if there are any other bikes and all he said was Your a month late buddy". If you have no basic sales training you are a complete waste. No sir i am in fact not late

My son purchased a pair of Vapor 2x Pro Goalie Skates in July online from Sport Chek. Once they arrived at our home we brought them to East Hills Sport Chek to get them sharpened. The young man in the pro shop was fairly new I believe and unfortunately used the wrong wheel/stone to sharpen them and stripped all the carbon coating off of the blades. This was confirmed when we brought them to Pro Hockey Life the next day to have them looked at. I called the manager the next day and was put through to the pro shop. I was told that they would order a new set of the carbon blades for his skates but it would be a few days. I called back a week later and was told it would be a month. I called back in October and was told they were still waiting for the Bauer rep to get them. I called again in November and was told someone would call back and they never bothered to.So the store ruined a $150 set of blades from a $1000 pair of brand new goalie skates and gave us the run around and then stopped responding. Absolutely atrocious customer service. I don't blame the new kid in the pro shop as mistakes happen, but the follow up from the manager and more senior member of the pro shop when it comes to finding a resolution has been completely unacceptable.Mike Nelson

We normally purchase our children's footwear at Sport Chek. Tonight we popped into East Hills location. We had an absolutely terrible experience here. I will say that the store has a convenient location, and is well-kept. First, no selection whatsoever for children's boots. As if that isn't bad enough, the customer service was absolutely horrendous, hence me leaving a review. Not only were there several customers waiting with no help, the cashier was god awful rude when asked if anyone worked in the shoe department. She literally snapped at us- even raising her voice to say she was the only one working, that we need to wait, someone will come around. She did, however, page another lady to assist all of us who were waiting. The lady who came from the back may have been worse then the cashier. We asked if she could find the size we needed for our daughter, after she scanned it she says 'nope, don't have it' and turns to walk away. My husband then stops her and asks if she can find a winter boot in that size (doesn't even matter which one), to which she exclaims 'what you see is what you get!' then storms off. At this point we were livid. We were able to find a display model that fit our child. I approached her and asked if she could find the other boot to the display. She storms off- yet again- and when she returned she literally shoved the box in my husbands hands and walked away. We grabbed the other boot from the display, purchased our items and left. We will not return to this location. Seems like a social gathering in the evenings rather then somewhere for people to shop. I'd give it a zero if google would allow.

Not impressed with this place. They sell you a pre paid sharpening card then when you need your skates sharpened they tell you it's going to be 3hrs wait majority of the time. I approached the assistant manager hoping for a solution and she gives you a shoulder shrug with a to bad for you response. I will never purchase another one of these cards again do to the careless attitude of this lady....in my opinion far from management material mangers are there to solve problems not shrug them off. I'll go to the Sunridge location from now on way better customer service.
