Talayah's Southern Grill

Meh, the food could have definitely been better. I had gotten a combo platter and it was alright, it was extremely greasy, had decent flavour, but wasn't restaurant quality in my opinion. It reminded me quite a bit of like a retro style diner, but had fast food quality food, it was quick and basic but was definitely not worth the price. I personally am NOT a fan of spicy food, because I can't handle it and it can get way too painful, but the southern Nashville wings were not even spicy at all I ate one and felt like I wanted another one haha. The deep fried mushrooms, deep fried chicken, and the dry ribs could definitely use less oil or grease or whatever it was and probably a thinner batter. The staff was nice and welcoming though. Onion rings, deep fried pickles and the dry ribs were probably the best out of the whole platter.

Talayah’s is an amazing place. It does not look much inside, but the food is great and top notch. Southern Fried Chicken is really good! The owner was very cordial and took the time to speak with us about the history of this fine establishment.We appreciate his business and will be supporting this place anytime we are able to go as it is a bit far from me. This place truly reminds me of my time in the South.Their bathroom is very clean.Get the Nashville Fried Chicken with Waffles. Amazing! We will definitely return!

Highly highly recommend! You can tell this is Authentic southern Hospitality! Our family ordered the Shrimp Poboys, wings and chicken and waffles. All the food was amazing!The spice and Cajun mix they use on there chicken and macaroni is perfect! Spicy but flavourful. Ordered the food for take out. The staff was friendly and the main cook/owner was very friendly!Would definately come back and try out more dishes. 5 out of 5!

I visited this restaurant Aug 12, 2022. I would say that the cleanliness was good. The service was friendly and accommodating as I ordered something that was not on the menu. I think it was a fair request since they did not have the chicken wings I wanted to order. I ordered a piece of chicken (breast) with the Nashville option. The chicken was moist and the spicy factor was low, I was hopping it was a bit spicier but the flavor was nice. I would recommend a visit here to try their chicken.

One of my favourite places to eat. They have different foods I haven't seen any where else and they taste amazing. Definitely try their sweet tea, it's the best I've had!!

Have been following this place on Facebook and Instagram for quite awhile. Finally made it into town and was able to stop in, had the Louisiana Grilled Chicken Sandwich. It was fantastic!! Perfect amount of heat so you can enjoy all the other flavours and still have some kick to it. Hopefully on another weekend trip will be able to stop in and try the supper menu! Service was friendly and quick as well. Highly suggest you stop in, you won't regret it.

We ordered takeout a few days ago. The seasoning on the chicken is perfect! And I didnt think Id ever rave about a coleslaw....but dont get two sides, just get two servings of that slaw!!! But then again, the potato salad is great as well!I would have to suggest, only have the mac n cheese in house.All in all, loved the meal! Keep up the good work!

Great fried chicken! Juicy and spiced great. Nashville spice was sweet and spicy but not overpowering that I couldn’t eat all three! The fries could have been crispier. The staff are also all so nice all the time!

First time I tried this restaurant we dined in and it was fantastic then the next time we tried to order food to pick up and no one answered the phone so we drove there to pick up and it turned out the restaurant was closed 40 mins prior to their stated closing time. Today I was craving here so thought I’d give it another chance but I’m quite disappointed. Ordered on DoorDash, my order wasn’t confirmed for over 30 mins and when I finally got my food it’s not at all the same quality as before… the Nashville chicken sandwich is suppose to be on a kaiser bun ( which is also stated in the description) I received it on white bread that’s only toasted on one side and the smallest dollop of sauce which wasn’t even properly spread on the “bun” honestly wtf… this place had such great potential but it feels like nobody actually cares enough to run a good business….

Some excellent southern style food. Great fried chicken and a very tasty Nashville chicken sandwich. Sides were all quite good - potato salad, mac salad, mac and cheese, and of course the baked beans.
