I recently visited Portofino Italian Restaurant in Quebec City downtown and had a mixed experience. While the food was delicious, the service was quite slow. I had to wait for quite some time to be seated, and the wait time for my food was longer than I would have liked. I would recommend making a reservation in advance to avoid long queues and wait times.However, despite the slow service, the restaurant itself had a great ambiance. The red and black color theme created a cozy, intimate atmosphere that was perfect for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends. I felt like I was transported to a traditional Italian restaurant.The food at Portofino Italian Restaurant was definitely the highlight of my experience. The dishes were flavorful and expertly prepared, showcasing the best of Italian cuisine. The menu offered a great variety of options, and the portions were generous.

I care here for a light solo dinner recently and I think I was expecting a little more from the restaurant. When I was seated, it was not clear what the ordering system was - they have a light up cube on the table that I didn’t even notice. Finally after waiting quite a while someone came to explain. I was offered complimentary bread but it was kind of cold, however the olive oil and vinegar was a nice touch. For my meal I ordered a glass of white wine, meatballs and minestrone soup. The meatballs weren’t hot, just barely warm, which made me think they were just reheated. They didn’t taste too bad. The minestrone was delicious and I would have it again. Overall not the best experience and I expected more.

Ordered Margherita Pizza with draft beer as an appetizer which was good. Afterwards ordered entrees (Veal scallopini with port and mushrooms and tagliatelle pasta) which took forever to come but did after 45 minutes and tasted very good as well as being hot and freshly made. Likely the order was missed by the chef as several tables came and went. Was pretty impressed that the wait staff were very efficient and were drinking glasses of wine while working: happy staff, happy workers.I find it interesting how 9 Provinces are required to have everything readily available and bilingual (French and English)...note the menu cover...you are required to have a smartphone that can read a QR code and find wifi reception only to then squint over your 3x4" screen to read a menu in English. This restaurant could and should do better."

Delicious brick oven pizza, yummy veal, sweet cocktails. Everything you could ask for at an Italian restaurant. Service was friendly and food came out fast. Live music added to the vibrant, jovial atmosphere. Highly recommend this place in Old Town Quebec City.

The restaurant claims to be fancy but it is not exactly. The food was not bad, but not that good. It's not worth the price. The portions were huge. They were flexible with changing the ingredients in the dishes. The service was kind but very slow. It took a long time for the dishes to arrive at the table. Menu only in French and the waiter was patient and explained about each dish that was asked. The atmosphere was nice, the place was very darkened.

My favorite restaurant in Quebec! I went here three times in 4 days, and we were still able to find out new cuisines! Love the beef carpaccio with salad, omg, the best salad ever had! And seafood risotto is perfect! You definitely cannot miss the Tiramisu here, they handmade everything! Cannot say enough about this place, everything was perfect!

Amazing Italian place!! The environment is very nice and cozy, and the servers were very attentive!! I went with my husband and some friends and we got some pasta, everything was delicious!!! I got the carbonara, my husband the spaghetti with meat ball (no pic ☹️) and our friends got the Fazzoletti and Fettuccine au pesto. They offered us pepper and Parmesan as toppings (veeery generous! We loved it! Haha)

Ordered penne arabiata with extra veggies, pasta , pizza vegeterian, mussels, bruschetta, mango mule, brazilian coffee.Everything tasted amazing! The portions were great and the service was quick!Definitely a must visit!

We really enjoyed our meal here. Staff was very friendly. We were stuck inside during a snow storm and they didn’t rush us to leave. We also had the pizza here which I forgot to take photos of because it was so good and we ate it as soon as we got it. We also had this chicken Parmesan pasta here. Really good. If I stayed in Quebec City for more than 1 day or if we ever go back I would definitely eat here again.
