Mutt Manners

We highly recommend Mutt Manners. We met Shelby when our Pup was just under a year old. She continues to guide our family with training techniques as Arlo continues to grow and learn to be the best possible dog. Shelby is flexible, patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable and provides great advise in a non-judgmental way. So thankful that she is always a text or phone call away!

We just finished 5 sessions of training for our 10 month old Chocolate Lab, with Shelbie from Mutt Manners. What a great experience for all! Shelbie was patient and explained everything we needed to be doing to turn our crazy lab into a well-behaved family pet. He is definitely a work in progress but Shelbie gave us the confidence that we would live through these adolescent months. I would highly recommend Mutt Manners to anyone who is looking to improve your furry friend's behaviour! We are certainly glad that we did.

I would highly recommend Shelby and the Mutt Manners team. I appreciated having the one-on-one in-home sessions and won’t hesitate to reach out again when I need additional support. I was open to all of Shelby’s guidance and appreciated her listening to some of my challenges with my pup and helping to implement solutions. The sessions have helped me gain confidence in handling my pup. We have also participated in the Sunday pup/dog socials and dog walking services.

Shelby is such a wonderful, kind and patient trainer. She makes you and your dog feel comfortable and the training was totally judgment free. She was able to help us recreate situations we wouldn’t have been able to alone and we have a ton of new tools and tips to practice in hopes of improving our dogs undesirable behaviours!

... we were drawn to Mutt Manners and their philosophy of positive, reward-based training and can’t say enough about Shelby, Emily, Kaitlyn, and Cathy ... their knowledge, expertise, and passion is self-evident, and it has been, and continues to be, our privilege and pleasure to be guided by them.... our wee Bunny has blossomed with the Mannered Up Programme [private classes], Group Puppy Training and Puppy Socials ... the experience, transformative!... but more than that ... we owe Mutt Manners a debt of gratitude.... Bunny got out of her harness whilst on a walk on Garrard Road, a rather busy street in Whitby ... as you can imagine, utter panic ensued, however thanks to Kaitlyn’s work with us, the recall technique worked a charm.... but for Kaitlyn and Mutt Manners, a different outcome, one that we struggle to even put into words, could very well have transpired.... suffice it to say, we highly recommend Mutt Manners!

Shelby & Kaitlyn are amazing!! I have two large dogs, one needed a refresher and the other we just adopted and needed some training. Both trainers were fantastic, very patient, understanding and both very knowledgeable. At the end of each class they give you suggested things to work on which helps progression as well, i really enjoyed the reading material they sent with it. I would absolutely recommend Mutt Manners to anyone who is looking for some training!! Thank you so much.

Kaitlyn was my dog's trainer and she was great in teaching us both tips and tricks for his pulling and distractions during walks. We both now feel more confident on our walks. I would definitely recommend Mutt Manners and Kaitlyn for any dog training you may need. Very skilled and knowledgeable :)

I've been taking my puppy here since she was 3 months old and it has been a godsend in ensuring she's well socialized with other dogs.The staff have been very caring, reasonable and awesome to all of the dogs (as I've seen in the past 2 months I've been taking my puppy to their puppy socials).It's unfortunate they have been mixed up with another dog service that was caught on tik tok (guys, look at the number on the van in the video... those are not Ontario area codes...). I hope they get those negative reviews removed as it is unfairly hurting their business.

I highly recommend Mutt Manners for positive dog training. I chose to have private lessons for my puppy Simba at home and Kaitlyn was amazing. She is very punctual and always happy to do what she does. She gave good advice and taught us a lot. I took Simba for a walk for the 1st time with Kaitlyn. She made it seem very comfortable for me. I have learned a lot from her. Highly recommend Kaitlyn.

Was definitely worth the money and time. Shelby and the other trainers who helped her we so amazing and patient. Luna loved going to her classes every week and definitely loved Shelby. Would recommend her to anyone which I’ve been doing, don’t even think about going to Petsmart for training, Shelby is way better and more efficient and actually cares about training the dogs. Wish we could put Luna in all Shelby’s different classes she offers but can’t due to Luna having a very rare heart condition.
