Working with David, Michael and Angela on our timber roof project in Whistler was a terrific experience. Their customer service and attention to detail is second to none. The finished product is perfection and I'm still amazed on how they can fabricate these massive timbers with such precision. Not only does the Kettle River team have superior timber skills for full on Timber Homes, Stables, and Patio Frames, but they also have those in bringing timber pieces into more conventional house designs, especially in early period house designs.I had the pleasure of working with them on our 1920's replica house in Vancouver. This was our third timber house.The team under David's guidance and leadership, all take pride from the initial design, components development to the final assembly and craftsmanship. They are very much a team, fully dedicated, in all the necessary components of sourcing logs, to timber pieces, to assembly and final finish details, ( bolting, strapping, edging, beveling, coring), including taking on the challenges of remote locations, one of which I have witnessed.They are an impressive knowledgeable group from end to end, starting with a design, as a full-on house, or as a house feature, or outdoor assembly area, or stable/barn. It was clear to me that the teams apportion key activities, sourcing the right trees, critical kiln work, cutting out timber pieces, prepping the materials in a full service dry pre- assembly facility. Everything fits. To final site assembly and final timber material finish. Including the remote no road access, sometimes by boat/barge and even helicopter.Not only is David a very knowledgeable professional in the sourcing of logs/timber, and a builder, he also has a great rapport and patience with all manner of clients.In my view he is very willing to explain and help clients understand the process of obtaining the correct materials, and using timbers for a variety of applications, not only timber framing, and roof pieces, but feature signature pieces for stairs, feature walls, outdoor patios. He is very good at describing the correct way to make use or not use timbers. This for a whole range of various segment applications. A very rare quality these days.The other key piece is the team approach and the variety of experienced skill sets they have in order to accomplish the various tasks, from careful carving, to remote site delivery logistics, to finished staining and sealing, plus design and engineering.All I can say is Wow.

Kettle River Timberworks built our fabulous home on Nicola Lake. David and his team exceeded all our expectations. They worked seamlessly with our contractor and our interior designer. Andrew, Davids timber designer took our ideas and turned them into a home and even managed to incorporate some major changes that still maintained our original ideas and even improved them. Everyone who has entered our home has commented on the beautiful timber work and the tongue and groove ceilings that they also supplied and stained. We engaged Kettle River Timberworks in 2013 to design and construct a timber frame for our cottage on as island. Construction took place in 2014. The firm provided excellent advice and worked well with our other contractors on the project. They were on time in completing their component of the work and were within the quotation given to us for the project.
