Balanced Doghouse

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Bern and the Balanced Doghouse are amazing and I would recommend their services in a heartbeat. I was fortunate enough to have him support me in the transition to becoming the owner of Maggie the Standard Poodle, where he truly went above and beyond through his Puppy’s First Steps Program. When we first got her, I was feeling so overwhelmed and the puppy blues were very real! Both Maggie and I went through huge transitions, and Maggie needed support to truly flourish as she is very nervous and uneasy about the world around her. Bern was there to reassure us and give us the tools to help her into the puppy she is today, and to show us how to help her continue to grow going forward. Bern was so good with Maggie, listened and understood our initial concerns, and adjusted the program to support Maggies needs, including adding a mini board and train into our program to jumpstart Maggies progress and allow for Bern to get a full understanding of her personality and her needs. We have seen such progress throughout this program and feel so confident going forward. Starting out on the right foot and getting a trainer right away with a puppy is such a smart decision and helps set you up for success for their rest of you and your dog's life!

Bern taught us how to bring the best out of our 2 dogs. Our 7 yr old beagle is reactive and our 2 yr old beagle is buzzing with unfocused energy. Bern showed us fun and effective communication techniques to refocus both dogs. Over the course of 6 trainings and practice in-between, our dogs progressively became more attentive, less distracted, and more easily corrected. No dog is perfect, but his training has made all the difference in the world, and we highly recommend his services.
