Stepper makes a lot of promises when you're about to move in and there's a lot of deficiencies. They say they'll fix and take care of everything. You give them the check and they're gone. You call and call, email and email. Promises, no shows are common. Stalling tactics til your year warranty is done then they really ghost you. Our basement floor is beyond cracked and needs to be replaced, 7 windows don't close, fireplace stone is coming apart, put the washer and dryer upstairs instead of down!, didn't insulate a outside wall, grading wasn't finished, outside trim is terrible work, flooring is separating, the list goes on. Don't ever pay them in full until all fixes are made! MG trys to get you to believe it's all normal and accept their terrible work. Since Rudy's been gone this company has been circling the drain.

This house was built in 2004 stepper didnt even have plumbing rough ins for the basement the posts are in the wrong spot in the basement the windows are also in the wrong spot in the basement our main bathroom shower started leaking less than a yr after it was being constantly used and the way it was built it cannot be repaired from the bottom we have to move the shower to get at the plumbing ....the washer and dryer hookups were put in the basement when they should have been on the main floor the electrical zaps for all the fans the plumbing is not on the right slope which keeps causing backup.....go with cardel or trico homes instead.

I bought my house in Creekstone 2 years ago, the exterior paint keeps coming off, they repainted it last year (only after multiple requests and emails). This year paint came off again. I had a request for re-paint sitting since September last year, because they had to come in and re-nail the exterior boards. Imagine the exterior coming off on a 2 year old house!!! Extremely challenging to get these guys to honor their warranty and the warranty representative I am talking to doesn't even try to give you a half decent excuse. I think I am a great bother to him with my warranty issues. At Stepper Homes

Purchased a home from Stepper Homes a few months back. They gave us a certificate which could have been used towards sod. When it came to use it, they did not respond back. It was very unprofessional, poor customer service and a lack of communication. We were not compensated with all the time wasted for travelling back and forth for a simple documentation. Not to mention delays we encountered with our contractor. I did not expect this from Stepper Homes. Will not be doing business with them in the future.

Stepper Homes… Needs to Step UpCurrently, the biggest ongoing issue that I am dealing with is my grading/landscaping. When you purchase a home with Stepper (in the community of Hudson at least), you are forced to pay $2500 into a bond at the time of purchase, and then you are required to do your landscaping (grass, 1 tree, 4 shrubs) within a year of the final grade certificate being issued. When I took possession of my home in January of 2021, it was the first duplex building to be built on this block, and the building beside me was the last to be built, they have not even completed grading yet. I raised this concern with Stepper in May 2021 as my time was running out. I explained that I could not complete my grading until final grading beside me was completed and the elevations were once again properly set. In response, Stepper granted me an extension to the end of 2021. Fast forward three months to now (August), and the grading next door is still not completed. I am very quickly running out of summer, running out of options for trees and shrubs, and running out of time to plant them and they have a decent chance of surviving through winter.I am also not satisfied that the grading was properly completed when it was done initially, because I have had lots of settlement at both the front and rear of my property, caused by water pooling against my foundations. I’m sure anybody with even the slightest comprehension of how grading works could tell you that this is only going to happen if the ground is graded towards the house, rather than away. I previously had a large sinkhole at my back door, and more recently I have had more settlement, which has damaged my conduit to my garage, ripping the pipe out of the box. At the front, the ground is settling lower than my porch, and the ground underneath my front path has become a void. I have raised these concerns with Stepper, but they keep dismissing my concerns, telling me that this is just natural settlement, and is not their problem, but I can tell you with certainty that when you have water pooling against your house causing sinkholes, that is a grading problem. My advice if you are considering building a home with Stepper: Don’t do it, find another builder. It seems that quality and customer care has slipped a lot since I purchased. Once they have your money, you no longer matter.

I bought a house with Stepper Homes last 2014 at Mahogany. Here's my series of unfortunate events with my Stepperhome.First day of possession of the house, the Main shower and bath leaked down to my kitchen when my daughter took a shower, after a month, the exterior outlet is wired wrong keeps tripping the breaker also the electrical panel is not label properly. On the 6th month, Mainfloor Ceiling got repaired due to water leak again from main shower and bath water fixtures.Less than a year after possession, water leak on the back window, they said somebody came out and fixed it but, it leaked again after a year. Warranty manager said, any water driven by air is not covered by warranty, but the house should be sealed properly regardless of what ever condition. On the 3rd year, noticed multiple small crack on the stucco, 4th year, brown liquid coming out of the cracks on the stucco. I asked their warranty manager, Matthew George said stucco is not part of the building envelope, the guy is a work of art, I tell you. Here's the best part, before the 5 year warranty ends with ANHW, I filed a claim regarding the stucco cracks. From the date the Claim assessor did his report and from the time they finally worked on the back stucco. It took them a year and a half. They said my house is not their priority because they're fixing other houses with severe damage. They opened the back wall and guess what, OSB wood is completely rotten, insulation is saturated with moisture and the molds and you would not believe it.This Stepper home is only 5 years old. So, my message think twice before buying from Stepperhome.

We bought a custom built Stepper home from the original owners (our friends), the house is 10 years old. After professional tile cleaning the grout is coming out of the tile joints: this is because all the spacers were left between the tiles and grouted over.... I emailed stepper who simply said you are past the warranty" ok great sooo you install tile WRONG and its discovered but you do nothing because it wasnt discovered fast enough?!I guess if you use stepper you need xray vision to see what they have done wrong under the surface."

We built with stepper in 2015, we found out recently while getting the home inspected for sale that they didn't even finish the HRV install in our basement, the unit had actually been non functional for 7 years...steppers response? Oh well you should have noticed sooner. As far as I'm aware they aren't building residential homes anymore and the industry is the better for it, terrible company.

We bought our first home with Stepper back in 2020 and I must say, the costumer service after we purchased was deplorable. Stepper Homes used a company that sold faulty flooring and did not notify their customers of this issue. Within the first year I noticed a bit of unevenness with our floors and when I told them about it in person, they blamed it on the weather. This winter we noticed the unevenness getting worse, and they came and assessed it and nonchalantly told us it’s faulty flooring…and we’ll have to deal with the flooring company directly as it’s no longer under warranty. We submitted a claim directly with the flooring company about 4 months ago and have not heard back. Now we’re left to replace the flooring on our 2 year old home. I regret buying with Stepper. They don’t care about their customers and their products are CHEAP.Just so you’re aware, it looks like they have now partnered with Look Homes.

When you write stepper a check they are no longer around to service you. I bought a home from them 1.5 yrs ago with ongoing interior defects that stepper is supposed to manage under warranty. However they do a quick fix and the issue appears again. The workmanship of their contractors is really poor. They close defects without the owner being aware and call it within tolerance. I have had a problem with my cupboards since day 1. I have rejected the replacements on 7 different occasions due to them appearing with more defects. Stepper closed all the defects on the portal saying they are within tolerance. Yah ok half painted white cupboards with oily looking quick fixes that look like grease stains on your cupboards. I guess if that is within tolerance go use a different homebuilder who cares about future business. Don’t use this home builder. Workmanship is very poor quality.
