Canadian Yacht Charters

2022. Just had a wonderful week on yacht from CYC-North in Gore Bay, Ontario cruising the North Channel Whale’s Back area. We have over 25 years past experience cruising the North Channel on our own boat. Ken, Pam and crew did a wonderful job for us! They are very knowledgeable about the area and the boats they deal with. Ken’s Captain’s Meeting was very helpful. Marina facilities were very nice. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, helpful and knew the boats well! Boat was far better equipped than I ever imagined. Ended up leaving most of the stuff I brought “just in case” in the truck at the dock. Boat was clean, totally equipped and operated flawlessly.Beautiful area! Highly recommend!Dan, Laura, Abby

My family and I have rented a sail boat from the Canadian Yacht Charters this summer and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience: the boat was in great condition, with all the equipment we could have hoped for; the staff was attentive and responsive; and the location in Gore Bay was breathtaking.Merci beaucoup à l’équipe du Canadian Yacht Charters!!

We just got back from a week onboard the Da Capo and can't speak highly enough about the boat (immaculate, clearly so well maintained, and with a very detailed equipment inventory - you only need to bring food and a few clothes, and something to sip on in the evenings!). As for CYC - their marina and facilities are probably the best there is and the staff were all extremely helpful and cordial - made us feel very welcome - and I have no doubt we'll go back for more. I've read negative comments in the reviews about Ken and yes he's quirky, but he's obviously very experienced and clearly runs a tight ship there, he jumped on every little issue we came up with, and personally we found him likeable and accommodating. As for the place, North Channel is truly stunning with endless nooks and cranny places as well as plenty of open water - but you do need to have your wits about you in terms of safe navigation. All told, we all loved the experience and thought it was great value.

Fantastic trip with the Canadian yacht charters! Ken, Lisa and Pam treated us very well throughout the entire trip. Manitoulin Island is beautiful place with great sailing and our trip was amazing. Can’t thank the CYC team enough for such a great experience! Looking forward to the next time we make it up there.

Nice boat, squeeky clean and carefully supplied. Excellent introduction to boat prior to starting. Various small towns are fine to visit but anchoring overnight in fantastically beautiful anchorages is the best part of the adventure, with a drink and dinner in the cockpit, unbelievable sunsets and the mournful Loon calls! Exploring by dingy, or better yet, kayaks is one of the better things in life.

Issue with chart plotter. Rear cabin toilet smell throughout rear cabin and kitchen. Friendly staff tried to solve problems. Lost a day with problem with the chart plotter. Discovered a lot of islands and harbours. Need more than a week see the North Channel.

We recently spent a week on their PDQ 36 Mehitabel" and enjoyed the boat and the area very much. Every boat I've ever owned or rented has had it's quirks and maintenance issues. They come with the territory. Not to belittle issues experienced by others

Great area to charter!We chartered their Jeanneau 349 in August 2018. There are so many beautiful and well protected anchorages to choose from. During our week the winds were all around the clock and we easily planned a trip that allowed a peaceful, calm night at anchor. We had one minor issue with the boat and the super friendly staff went above and beyond to try to remedy the situation. Their facility in Gore bay is very organized and run by very helpful staff. I'd definitely go there again.

Myself and four other friends just chartered a 35 foot sailboat for a week and it was incredible! Absolutely outstanding service from all of the staff who got us prepared and gave us everything we needed for our trip. Special thanks to Ken, Lisa and Pam who were a pleasure to deal with and made the experience that much more enjoyable. We will definitely be coming back!

My wife and I chartered a boat for the first time with CYC the summer of 2021, the power catamaran Da Capo. We were going to go to Europe to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary but COVID had us looking for alternatives. We had such a great experience that we bought a boat and put it into charter with CYC.The couple we chartered with the same week last summer were back for their 25th time, saying they had cruised all over the world but the North Channel was their favourite place to boat. We anchored next to another couple in The Pool who spend their winters in the Caribbean and sail all over the world who also said The North Channel is their favourite place to boat.Maybe we'll see you at CYC or out on the water in the North Channel, a place many prefer to the Caribbean, Mediterranean and South Pacific.
