Garden City Cabs

Take caution on boarding this company's cabs when lining up at YVR. Driver was very shady with billing. I've taken several cabs the past few months back home from YVR and it's always been 27 dollars. I questioned the driver and he says there was a recent surcharge from the airport and billed me 30. He had no credit card machine either and initially insisted I pay cash. Did not help me with my luggage either despite me paying 18% tip.

This is the worst taxy service ever. Should not be in business. I call them to book a pick up and they said to wait 5-10minutes. I call them back after 10min and the clerk said to keep waiting that they were on the way, after 20 minutes I called again, they didnt wanted to answer my phone call, I stayed on the line for long time and left a message telling them that I had an Appointment in 20 minutes. And I have already wait for them 20 minutes. Left my phone number nobody call, I had to cancel my appointment with late charges that I have to pay now and left. They never show up after an 1 hour waiting and never call me back. This is the worst experience for me. I am new in Richmond, didnt now where to go. Very bad. No good customer service at all. I put one star but they dont deserved that. I will rather do -0. That’s it.....-0 rate

Phoned the night before to book a taxi for 3am to airport. No problem" the dispatcher tells me

I took a cab from YVR to North Van and ended up in a filthy, smelly vehicle with an equally filthy and smelly driver. Driver used his cell phone repeatedly while driving, never buckled up, then messed up the route guidance and displayed serious struggles to understand 'left' and 'right'. We somehow made it to Upper Delbrook and the car hardly made it up the hill, something in the motor had clearly gotten too hot. Stay away from Garden City Cabs!

Booked a cab for 4:15AM to YVR, driver never showed up and had to call Richmond Taxi. Tried to call the number but never got to anyone, just had music playing for 10 minutes. Richmond Taxi is the way to go - estimated wait time was 10 minutes, but they got here before that.

Called for the first time and I was happy to see one cab arrive in less than 10 minutes. Driver was courteous and got me to my destination very quickly. After I gave him a tip, he not only thanked me, but went as far as saying I had made his day.

I had the worst experience with Garden City Cabs!I normally always go to and from the airport by Uber, but our flight was delayed and got in just after midnight on Sunday so my wife and I decided to just take a cab. Got a cab from the lineup at arrivals and told the driver our address in east Richmond. He didn’t know where that was!… how can he be a taxi driver in Richmond and not know an address on River Road! I had to give him directions all the way to our address! He didn’t turn the meter on and I know there is a flat zone fee schedule so I don’t say anything!When we finally reached home I asked how much and he said give me $55!… the posted flat fare to our zone is $31!… when I brought that up to him he said he didn’t know it’s flat fare system!. I looked it up on my phone and showed it to him…. he still said he didn’t know. I find this totally unacceptable!I gave taking a taxi again against my better instinct and again I was very disappointed!Poor English!doesn’t know directions!Doesn’t turn meter on!Tries to rip me off!I I think Garden City Cabs should terminate this driver… I have a feeling he wasn’t the registered driver to this cab… he just didn’t know anything about being a driver .I will go back to Work Uber!

Get rid your dispatcher!Called in on June 26th approximately 8am.Answering a business line with a lazy “Hello?”Is unacceptable and unprofessional. I called in to request a cab and the dispatcher just said “Okay” and hung up. Didn’t ask my name, didn’t say what the ETA was. And needless to say the Cab didn’t show up.

This company and drivers are corrupted from the top to bottom. Don't want to tell my story here as plenty of reviewers already had and its just as bad as it can get, like others. What I want to share is when I complain to its Manager with the email provided on its website, the email was returned undelivered after several attempts across the week. This company is beyond help.

The driver kept insisting on cash payment even when I told him multiple times that I don't carry cash. Very irritating after a 5 hour flight back into Van.
