Gerry was exceptional! From scheduling to obtaining the home inspection on my email, everything was smooth. He took time to go over any area of concern and answered many questions during inspection. 5 stars across the board!

Alan recently completed a home inspection for us for a home we were planning to purchase. He spent 3 ½ hours reviewing every aspect of the home and carefully providing us feedback. Alan was thorough in every aspect of the inspection; for example, he went into every crawl space to check for ventilation and possible mold/mildew and climbed up on the roof to examine the chimney and shingles. Throughout the inspection, he periodically took us through the house to show us the last few rooms he had looked at and point out any concerns. He also pointed out positive aspects of the home such as the newer shingles on the roof and the quality of the brickwork on the exterior of the home. Safety was Alan’s number one concern. He let us know of a couple small issues with the electrical wiring and ventilation of a furnace that he felt we should insist on being remedied before moving forward with the purchase of the home. At the end of the inspection, Alan reviewed his entire 48-page report with us which outlined each area of the house, included photos, and ended with a concise summary. He thoroughly addressed any questions we had and emailed us a copy of the report. Overall, we were super pleased with Alan’s home inspection. We felt very confident that we knew what we were getting if we chose to move forward with the purchase of the home. We would highly recommend Alan to others.

As a first time home buyer, a quality inspection was important to me. Alan was a referral and I am so grateful I worked with him. He was thorough, patient, kind and took his time through the house. He allowed me to be there with him which helped me really understand all he was seeing and all I should be aware of. There is a reason why the real estate agent suggested we go with this company. Do your research and never go with a realtor recommendation——there is a reason!!!!!! Has cost me thousands. Learn from my mistake. Complete Nightmare situation, inspector makes money based on recommendations from realtor—hmmmmmmm……

I cannot say enough good things about Joe Shields and Specsure Property Inspections. He was on time, fully prepared, and went through the property with a fine-toothed comb. He went through the house, top to bottom and all the way around going through the attic at length as well as crawl spaces under the deck and sun-room. He took the time to walk me through everything he was doing and explained the reasoning for it as well. He made sure I understood what he was talking about and if I had any questions at all, he took the time to explain. Joe made me feel very relaxed and comfortable asking questions or asking for clarification if I did not fully understand anything.Not only did Joe go through the property at length, but he also advised me what to look for over the first year(s) of ownership. He even went as far as breaking it down season-by-season, stating what were the big things to monitor based upon his findings and knowledge of homes in general. As a result of Joe’s inspection, it is a decision that I am more than comfortable and completely confident making.I have been around the construction trade for most of my life growing up, but the amount of knowledge and attention to detail that Joe showed throughout the course of his inspection was very impressive and second to none. I am also a small business owner and he went above and beyond to find a time that would work for both myself as well as the homeowner, which was not an easy task.Joe Shields was an absolute professional and he and Specsure Property Inspections will be the only company I recommend to my family, friends, and patients going forward!

Our home inspection was completed in May '22. We were buying a house from states and states away without the ability to see the homes in person; we relied heavily on our inspector. We're now $40,000+ in repairs that we didn't know were going to be needed so quickly, or at all. An entirely new roof, gutters, sump pump, hot water heater, foundation repairs, drainage, a gas leak that had been there for years, the list goes on from there. Some (certainly not all) of the issues were identified, but made to seem small/insignificant. For example, the inspector said that the foundation had been professionally repaired. It was not; it needed several thousands of dollars of repairs. The roof was crumbling and rotting and needed new fascia, decking, soffits, gutters. If you use this company, please get a second opinion. We weren't prepared for this level of repairs and have felt blindsided by many of them.

I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience using Specsure. I’ve had them do multiple inspections for me when getting ready to purchase a home. Alan is so helpful, professional and does his due diligence with explaining all of his findings and recommendations. Would definitely recommend
