The soft serve ice cream with toppings were nice to look at and stay firm/cold and yummy while we ate them (and they didn’t go melty on us). We like the taste and look of Matcha Forest Cake better than the Matcha Cheese Cake.Things are a bit on the pricey side but the servers were very nice and helpful. The dine-in experience was pleasant. There was only a very brief wait probably thanks to it being a slightly rainy day.We liked our Tsujiri Richmond experience so much that we went to try out Tsujiri Calgary and ended up with a rather horrible experience. More on the in a followup extensive review.

Omg, love it. Kinda overpriced for the small pancake, $18, but the texture and flavor were so good. Like a piece of cloud in my mouth, it goes so well with the sour & sweet citrus jam.

Delightful high tea experience. If I could give 4.5 stars, I would.Staff answered the phone quickly and told me that high tea reservations are easy to book during the week but might have a wait for weekends.I brought my mother and 90 year old grandmother to share the Tsujiri high tea experience with me for the first time on a Thursday at noon. There were several of us waiting for the doors to open at 12pm; staff did not acknowledge the line and opened 10min late. If they could have allowed us to enter to sit and wait at a table then that would have been more comfortable. We were led to a lovely semi-private tatami seating area where we ordered one tea set ($70) and tonkotsu ramen ($18.50) to share.Savoury:We all enjoyed the salty shirodashi soup as an appetizer. The matcha tea is of course high quality as well. The unagi on rice was delicious, as were the 2 types of tofu puff pouches (one was filled with wakame salad, while the other contained cooked salmon and rice). My mother and I had no issue sharing the green salad, which was pretty standard. I would have liked another savoury option to balance the sweet vs savoury ratio for the tea set. The tonkotsu ramen that we separately ordered was good. It has a nice creamy broth but costs less and has fewer ingredients than ramen at say, Zubu. Good soba noodles and chashu.Sweet:This was our first dacquoise ever, so I am no connoisseur but I enjoyed it. It was soft, light and creamy. The macaron was chewy, which happens to be my personal preference, as I do not like the macarons that are too dry, crunchy and sweet. The small matcha nama chocolate had gold flecks on it, and had to be cut to be shared. It was melt-in-your-mouth good and had excellent matcha flavour. The matcha cheesecake blew my mind on first bite. Flavour, texture and presentation-wise this is the best cheesecake that I've ever had. The shiratama dango was served in 3 cute flower ramekins that each contained different flavours: Azuki, black sesame, and soybean. They were fresh and chewy. Finally, the ice cream was excellent. We preferred the houjicha flavour and sweetness over the matcha but I thought both were very good. I agree that the matcha ice cream me be too strong for some people but this did not bother me.Service pacing was good and the 2 front of the house staff were polite and smiley; however, they should have bussed our tables and done a quality check to be more attentive, as the back tables are hidden from view and easy to unintentionally neglect.Overall, the service needs improvement but the value and quality of the high tea set is well worth the recommendation. I would come back.

High tea is very well priced for two people to share. The mochi is so soft and tasty. The cheesecake balanced with the other sweets is a lot, especially if you’re not a huge fan of cheesecake.I called many times (about 7 times) over the course of 2 days and no one picked up the phone. When someone finally picked up, it was so difficult to hear each other because of the noise.

A neat little store with friendly staffs and nice tea smell. The O-Matcha smells and tastes really authentic, the same as I had in Kyoto. The Matcha ice cream has pretty balanced sweetness although the red beans are a bit too sweet to me.

Can’t believe how cheap the afternoon tea set is! $70 for two is such a good price for its quality. Everything from the tea set was delicious. Their ice cream machine broke during our visit so we had to wait quite a bit for that to be served. Otherwise the experience was amazing. I’d definitely go again.

Went for high tea. They started us off with a broth soup. It was salty with some yuzu in it. As soon as the food was ready they explained to us what each one was. I really liked the egg and tofu one. The mochi were nice and soft. I loved the pastries. They were soft and sweet. Presentation was great. I think they're under staffed, so you may have to wait a bit for service. But when they did come they were polite and answered any questions we had.

Nice high tea, the matcha cheesecake was the best, not too strong this time. The last time I was here the ice cream was too strong so it was not good for kids. The seating is not comfortable which is why not 5 stars, the place is a bit small and crowded.

Really great high tea. Soft serve was great as usual - creamy, rich and not too sweet. The other sweets were okay but I preferred the savoury items. The eel was very fatty and the salmon sushi sandwich was tasty too. The matcha soufflé pancakes were super fluffy and delicious.

I have had afternoon tea in many places, so I can compare Tsujiri to these places.Food: great. Really tasty. I appreciate the dashi soup as well. Good combination of savoury and sweet. the sweets weren't overwhelming. The issues: the cookie with jam should come as a pair - not just one. The entire point of afternoon tea is that each person gets a full set. Same as Salad. It was really awkward that the salad was on the first tray and had to be shared. It would be much appreciated if it came in small bowls. The icecream. Same issue as before. Each bowl of ice cream should have both flavours. Having to share these was not positive and owners should try to see how other people do afternoon tea as well. There was also one slice of cake which makes no sense. Again, we had to ask for a knife and cut it ourselves. It would be better if the cake was already cut by staff or if it came as two mini cakes.Service: barely there. We had to call several times for service, bill etc. The cashier also had difficulty charging us (4 people) while this should be a really easy transaction. Fix your machines, so it can have the set price of $35 per set plus drinks instead of having to create two different transactions.Overall, they really need to fix their menu so there is one of everything. This way, the number of people can be odd (3,5 etc) otherwise, you will be charged twice.I might give this place another chance if they fix their menu and their till. The food was great though.
