This review is strictly speaking on my experience picking up the machine. Im sure they fixed the problem i hope haha.I went to pick up my machine today and an older Canadian lady was helping me she seemed nice at first. Im new to sewing so i asked her opinion on which thread is better for polyester material. She said get 100% polyester thread not the blend.She came over to the wall to help me pick it out and then i asked her why poly over the blend? She didnt really answer the question so i asked it in a different manner. I asked what are the pros and cons going with 100% polyester thread compared to the blend and she sighed and said i dont have time to go through this with you. I was really shocked.I said ok ill wait for that man over there, to finish with the customer maybe he has time to go through it with me. Which he did. He asked me what material im using it for and i was more specific. I said im using it on a 65% poly and 35% cotton. And the lady yelled and said well u didnt tell me that! The man kinda waved her off.I didnt go into detail because like i said im new and i thought since the percentage was more on the poly side it didnt matter. I dont know why she yelled that she didnt have time to explain it to me anyways haha.I think she needs to be trained better. But thank you to the man that helped me i really appreciate it and you know what you’re doing!

I was having an issue with my sewing machine and brought it to Sewing Mart expecting to leave the machine and pick it up in a few days about $100 poorer. After a short wait while he finished up with some other clients he looked at my sewing machine right away, tried a few things, made some recommendations and didn't charge me for his time! My machine is about 16 years old and he said he could do a service (~$70.00, cheaper than any other store I found in the GTA) but he suggested it might be better to save my money and put it towards a new machine once mine kicks the bucket. I've had poor experiences with newer sewing machines but he assured me that I could get a comparable machine for ~$300-350 that would last me a good long time. He was pleasant, knowledgable, and very helpful! I will definitely be going back for his help to pick my next machine when the time comes! They also carry mitten/suspender clips which I couldn't find anywhere else! Excellent service, I would definitely recommend this store to anybody in need of sewing notions, machines and repair!

This place is great. Had an old kenmore sewing machine and couldn’t find the pressure foot and screw attachment and I called and the owner was so friendly and helpful and I drove an hour on Sunday and he had the piece ready and installed it for me. I couldn’t find the part anymore. I’m so happy that I can use my sewing machine again. Great experience

Very helpful and fast with repairs. Fixed my pfaff 1222e and singer 2000 same day of drop off. I bought a brother Serger off them for a reasonable price as well. Highly recommend.

This place is very good as i have Indian sewing machine and need some repair they did so amazing work and have all the spare parts . I am so glad they are here .
