Best Western Plus Winnipeg West

Extremely well located on the west side of Winnipeg in the same parking area as Denny's and Flying J.Very quiet and clean.Comfortable beds.Staff was very friendly and courteous. Complimentary breakfast was a pleasant surprise with many options to choose from.

The room was decent and bed comfortable, also the thermostat was responsive in setting room temperature. No issues with the room.Pool is a good set up.However, the gym was completely neglected. There are no free weights, only a single cable machine that is old and broken down, and the treadmill is also old and broken. You can only run at a decline, and the belt is stretched and slipping. Also, there were no floor mats or towels.One of the bags from our party was stolen at check in, the hotel has no external video.

Stayed 1 night here while travelling to Alberta with my husband and dog. We rented the single king - Price was fair, room was large with high ceilings, smelled clean, full 4PC bathroom with tons of counter space and large mirrors. There is a fully loaded coffee station, mini fridge, and microwave which makes it easy to do the basics from your room. My husband enjoyed the big leather lounger and the pool was a nice perk after a long day of sitting and driving. There was a pet fee for the dog ($20) which seemed fair and the hotel was very accommodating and surprised us by providing a little goodie bag with poop bags, various treats and a bone - it seemed like an above and beyond service and kept our dog busy while we went for a swim. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful both over the phone and in person. Tons of parking, free wifi, and buffet style hot breakfast included. Everything you need and very comfortable. Would recommend.

We are moving from one end of the country to the other (for the second time in less than 2 yrs) and so we’ve stayed in our fair share of hotels and motels along the way… this was THE best. We love Best Western Plus hotels, but while they share similarities they can be quite different. First of all, they accommodated ALL of our pets. They had treat bags for the cats (complete with wet food and a toy- neither of which I’ve ever seen before!) as well as one for the dogs (including a small chewy bone which kept our pup entertained for a couple of hours!). The room we had was entirely carpet free so it felt so clean. The ceilings were impressively high which made the room feel huge. Their pet fee was hardly anything and after being charged $25 per pet per night at another hotel theirs was incredibly generous. The breakfast was well appointed and they even made fresh breakfast items for our child with celiac disease (they had gluten free bread too!). The front desk staff were very friendly and always had a smile. The pool and water slide was a huge hit with the kids! One last thing I want to mention is the location because staying in Winnipeg was always my least favourite stop due to the issues with security. Due to the location of this hotel there aren’t any sketchy individuals loitering and the parking lot is well lit and there was ample parking. I didn’t worry about our vehicle or our belongings at all. Also, it’s right off the highway which makes it easy to get going in the morning. The room was spacious. It was also quiet. I rented it because I wanted to relax in a hot tub. I was soooo disappointed. The water was about 70 degrees. No joke. Should be over 100. It was COLD. Wasted my money.The night clerk was watching TV, had his feet up on the desk, and eating. I get there is not as much to do at night, but it was so unprofessional. I used to work nights at a hotel, that's not proper.

It's just shabby and run down. The furniture has clearly seen better days. The building as well. If you don't like breakfast sausages for breakfast. Make sure you ask what they're going to be serving the day you're going to be there. Also, don't expect anything to be labeled in the breakfast room. You're supposed to guess what's in those tubs. Even if you ask staff they just shrug and walk away.

Room was spacious and clean. I liked the soap they had. Great breakfast.

I was looking for a pet friendly hotel to spend the night on my way to Calgary. It was fine. The rooms were ok but I didn't like the screaming, barefooted adults and children running around the lobby coming from the pool. People should be wearing footwear in hotel lobbies. I should have driven into the city and spent the night at the Alt-Hotel.

I very rarely leave a review, but I can't say a word here. I was here a few months ago and just recently, it's incredible how things have changed. Especially in terms of the staff. I was sitting at my computer in my room and the housekeeper came by, if I saw her name tag correctly Olha L. This last letter I remember for sure. I went to the bathroom after her and everything was shining like after hours of cleaning. Was so brilliant. I don't know how you were able to change everything in the hotel like that but please keep going. I want to come back to you.

The lack of customer service was devastating at this Best Western hotel. I have alway chosen to stay with Best Western as they always seem to do what they can to make their visitors happy. That is not the case at this location. I was looking for a long term stay and they did nothing to accommodate. 20-24 days a month for a minimum of 8 months. I will not return to this Best Western and I will take my diamond select status somewhere else
