Just had a Mother’s Day meal here. The service was really, really bad. The drinks were slow arriving. The food was really, really slow. And the price of the meal was outrageous (!!) for what we got.The food was actually quite good, however.This used to be a favourite spot of mine in Medicine Hat. I honestly will not choose to go here again.Too bad…

Late arriving in town on May long weekend Monday (after 8pm) but they were still open and very competently served excellent burgers and tasty fries with the truffle mayo. Some cold water and a nice pint of lager to accompany and you have 2 very satisfied out of towners. Glad we chose to come here over other places that were still open. Exactly what was needed. Well done all around!

The food and beer were okay, although the edges of my burger patty were charred. Also, strangely, they add some kind of sweet flavour to their old fashioned. As many reviewers noted, their service is very slow. Because of it, we almost missed another event we had planned to visit that evening. One server for the entire patio on a Saturday night is clearly not enough.

8 of us relatives met here for dinner for the 1st time in 6 years. Local still has the same great atmosphere, food & service. We enjoyed several Pints of Lager & glasses of white wine. Entrees included burgers, salads, Fish Taco Plate, BBQ Rice Bowl, Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Waitress Amanda was terrific, very attentive. We will return should the opportunity present itself.

I love this place! Right downtown with a great patio, it is the perfect place to go for a summer evening. Live music and fantastic food!

Servers all really nice and helpful, we got a starter nachos to share just for lunch and food was really great! We had our dog with us who is pretty nervous and trying to get her used to relaxing around people, she had a bit of a moment where she barked at a staff member and we were quite embarrassed but they seemed very understanding.

Good atmosphere and drinks but the food is hit or miss. For some reason they just can’t make a decent steak. Poor cut. Always cold. And chewy like shoe leather. Most the menu is pretty good. But that steak is absolutely terrible.

I used to love this bar, but the last couple of trips have been disappointing.Tonight it was over an hour to get our food, and the patio wasn't that full.When we did get our food, one of our burgers was black and dry. The yam fries were also burned (re-fried?)With so many choices in town, Local needs to step up thier game.

Pretty dissatisfied with this spot. Service is always so dismal when I go, maybe it's hit or miss, depending on the day. Our server hardly checked in on us. Ordered a juice and got a small tumbler (mostly of ice) and when the bill comes they have the audacity to charge 6 bucks for it... my friend had a hiball that came to 4.50, which means I could have saved money getting a shot of alcohol. Sounds pretty sad to me, paying more to stay sober... just frustrating, paying so much for so little? Not in a rush to go back to this place any time soon.

LOCAL Public Eatery - Medicine Hat
Second time here and it was extremely satisfying. I had the enchiladas with blackened chicken. The tomatillo and mole sauce were delicious, the chicken moist and blackened/seasoned very nicely. The patio is super well done and comfy.
