Southwoods Bed & Breakfast

First of all this is NOT a bed and breakfast.This is a flop house for 60 year old drunks that are all on long term rentals. Old men are always snoring/sleeping on the sofa, loudly drinking, or lighting incense in the common areas. Dishes are typically dirty in the sink for days on end, or put away dirty. Pots and pans scratched beyond use, knives are dull, appliances are broken, old, and filthy. I stayed here for a more upscale experience and to avoid student life - student life is significantly cleaner, more peaceful, and has more respectful 'roommates'.On top of this, parking was incredibly difficult as the owners family often blocked the guest car parking spaces, water pressure was subpar, the toilette was broken and did not get repaired for the 1.5 months I was there, and heating was inconsistent through the house making some rooms like a sauna while others were freezing.After asking for my stay to be cut short the owner George refused to refund my money, even after I complained that I was physically ill from the overpowering smells and felt uncomfortable in the house as the only young female.

I recently stayed here and feel the need to caution anyone thinking of staying here. The place resembles a homeless shelter. Long term tenants drink, sleep, and leave their belongings including drugs all over the common area and have guests visiting late into the night. I found it surprising that neighbors helped themselves to do laundry and eat at this establishment. Would not recommend staying here.

This is a beautiful and quiet spot to stay. Not only is it immaculately clean and wonderfully decorated but the owners are super helpful and friendly. The backyard is beautiful and it is set on a picturesque location overlooking a huge yard with a creek. The house is centrally located and is close to 401 and 407, bus routes, shopping, etc. They have accommodated me in so many ways. The other people who are staying at Southwoods Bed and Breakfast are very friendly and everyone gets along well. I can't wait to come back!
