Dave is amazing. He's got his whole inventory basically memorized. He'll try to order in anything he doesn't have in stocks and will hold it for you. It's a great place to just flip through LPs and find things to fill out your collection.

I have shopped at independent record stores across Canada, and none are better than x-ray records. In a retail business where owners all sell the same product, the differentiator is knowledge and customer service.Dave has a vast depth of knowledge of the music he sells, and he's one of the kindest humans I've ever met. The conversations and customer interactions can't be replicated online. It's the true value of buying music in person.I am a richer human for knowing Dave. I am moving to Montreal, but will truly miss what is far more than a place to buy music; It's an experience, and it's been a pleasure buying music here for the last decade.

I was told by a friend to check this place out. I met the owner who then showed his wide array of NEW albums, 50's, 60's, 70's, etc. I purchased 2 albums and ordered 2 more that were not in stock. Dave looked on line to make sure he would be able to deliver, and he did. X-RAY records is a funky and eclectic place with great good vibes. There are few places like this in Canada.
