Our son is in his second season and is loving ball hockey. He had never played hockey and in his first season was taught how to be a good defenseman. This season he wanted to be goalie. It was a rough start but through the BHi community we found a goalie coach for my son. His skill is improving and he is growing as a goalie. The parking lot is a bit much, but I look at it as an off-roading experience for my Jeep..lol The state of the parking lot does not effect my score.Looking forward to many seasons to come!

Good area for a game but it needs a good cleanup around the arena.

The league itself is fun, however it would be beneficial to find referees who also referee ice hockey. May want to look into recruiting some more competent individuals as the current refs cannot control a game.

They do a great job with the little kids (4-6): observing their natural level and developing skills starting with the basics of running & stick handling through to mini games. My 4yo loves it here.

If referees don't know the game, how can they control it?I'd also love if the referees didn't have conversations with people watching the game. Garbage place. I don't recommend it

Pros:I have been a player at BHI since spring of 2015 and i have had more ups than i have had downs with BHI. I enjoy playing at this arena. Fair prices for seasonal sign ups. Obviously the more teammates that sign up, the cheaper your part will be for the season. Great platform and the night lights for late games is a plus. The staff is friendly, i like that BHI patched up some broken plastic holes on the arena platform to prevent unnecessary safety issues. The trailer to make payments and transactions and purchases of merchandise is also a nice set up inside. I like that BHI also installed side doors to the benches for home and away teams so there is easy access to exiting and more room for players bags and sticks. BHI also has a portable bathroom outside the arena. Its wheelchair accessible as there is a gravel entrance that leads to a nicely paved platform to the arena.Upgrades that are needed:Things that need worked on BADLY is the driveway/parking lot, it needs major improvements I feel like im offroading when i arrive at BHI, not great for vehicles axles and other components that are affected by the bumpy entrance way. The steps to go up and down to the arena from the hillside, needs restructured and widened for safety reasons (that's just my personal opinion). The picnic tables at the main ground floor by the arena need replaced as they have lost their integrity over the years of wear and tear.Suggestions for improvement:A great suggestion to improve quality and long term care for players and referees and the arena itself is to maybe implement some sort of a gazebo (roof) over the arena to protect from weatherization and prevent players from slips and falls when its drizzling onto the platform. Since we are in a pandemic, it would be nice to see stationary hand sanitizing machines implemented at entrances to door ways and especially the players benches. Maybe install some more lighting at the parking lot so people can see where they are walking when going back to their vehicles after a late game.Overall opinion and score:Overall i give BHI a 4 star due to some safety concerns and the bad entrance. Other than that, its a nice place to play and have fun. Hope this review helps others and i hope my suggestions help the owner have a better idea of some improvements for the near future!

Leagues for all ages and abilities. Growing every season. Management is top notch. Great rink. Hoping to expand from 2 rinks. Always have an umbrella/ sunscreen/ extra sweater as it is outside.
