I’ve recently joined the Friday Night Magic MTG and I have had so much fun! There are fun facts and trivia at the start of most nights, and it brings everyone together with laughs and problem solving. The owner is incredibly kind to the younger players and shoppers that attend his store by making sure they’re taken care of and safe, as well as included as a part of the discussions that happen. The owner has really created an interactive, fun, safe environment for all who join. I’m really glad I started attending these! Thank you for all that you do, Roy!!!

An amazing store that caters to new and established players. The owner Roy is always looking to make things more enjoyable for everyone and provide a safe inclusive play environment. If I could give ThunderGround 10 stars I would.

The only collectable store I ever go to. The owner is an amazing gentlemen who has selflessly put on countless events that help build lasting relationships and he tries to foster a safe and supportive environment for new players as well as experienced ones. The owner has been so amazing rectifying any issue I have ever experienced in a friendly and productive manner.

I was curious about MTG in 2014-15, and have a new player-frequent perspective of the store.-First coming in was greeted and had all of my questions answered in a respectable way, never felt silly for not knowing something.-The recommendation he gave after we talked was spot on!-Great experience at every event I've been to. Even when there isn't many people there, Roy makes sure everyone has everything they need, and I've always had a blast.-Great added value with deals, store news and upcoming events! With a few random community building mini-events.-willing to literally sit there and teach newcomers! Long as there isn't a line-up at the time, he has always been willing to help me understand rules/mechanics of the game.THE COMMUNITY IS EXCELLENT.Everybody is respectful and always willing to help! And regulars are definitely well treated, but I've never felt like I've been ignored because I wasn't a regular you know?Appreciate the heck outta this place.

I’ve been a proud customer of Thunderground since it’s been part of the St. Albert community. You will never find a nicer person than the owner Roy - he has time for everyone and is so patient explaining things about games or comics to youngsters. I can’t say enough good things about it - local comic book shops are a national treasure and this one is a St. Albert icon.

I’ve been going to thunderground every week since I first moved here almost a year ago. I’ve been to other magic stores too, but when I came to thunderground for the first time I was surprised by how much better everything was. the people were very friendly and i never heard of anybody there being rude to one another. The owner Roy is the best owner you could ever ask for. He’s always walking around the store socializing with everyone there making sure they’re all happy, He gives out free drinks and snacks, overall he’s really great. They have magic singles and packs for you to choose from so you don’t usually have to go anywhere to get what you’re looking for. Currently I have not yet found a better store than thunderground and I believe I never will. I will forever stay loyal to the store and will go every week until I die.

the store is good and good people to play with but the owner is constantly rude and dismissive to all but a select few people. if you even talk about another collectable store he will pull you aside to talk" and its downright terrible. but i like going there to play"

A fantastic store for all of your tabletop gaming needs, they host special events including Magic the Gathering card game nights every Friday. The owner is driendly and genuine and always so good with the kids.

Amazing vibe/ atmosphere in this family owned comic book/ magic the gathering/ Warhammer store. Very busy with people playing magic on Friday night and the owner is amazing. Highly recommend if you want customized service and friendliness

A great place to get any comics/cards/collectibles you need, and for FNM and other events. I have been going here for almost 20 years now and Roy is one of the nicest and most accommodating people you will meet.
