As an adult student, I have found Andrew to be an excellent teacher. He is able to convey information about the music and technique easily, and tailors the teaching repertoire to my musical interests. I would recommend him to aspiring violinists of any age.

There are good teachers and then there excellent teachers, like Andrew. He taps into his vast musical knowledge and teaching experience to guide and direct you to improve your skill and playing performance. In four months since switching to Andrew my bow handling and technical skill in producing the many various tonalities has improved. He showed me how to maneuver my right hand to completely eliminate wrist soreness and improve my playing. He taught me a completely new way to tackle my scales using finger patterns and now moving into 4th, 5th and even 7th is achievable.Every week he inspires me with new information and makes me want to practice and play my beautiful violin even more. So grateful. Thank you Andrew.

Starting something new as an adult can be a daunting experience. When I began violin with Andrew it became apparent from day 1 that it is never too late to learn and to find a new passion. Andrew's friendly and compassionate nature fosters an excellent learning environment where he caters his lessons to your individual needs. In addition, he posses exceptional knowledge surrounding all aspects of the violin. I would recommend Andrew to anyone looking to learn the violin!

Andrew Dicker - Violin Teacher
Andrew is a phenomenal violin teacher. He is clearly a connoisseur of the instrument and extremely passionate about music, he quickly notices issues with one's playing and always provides tips that make things easier, and he is very clear and thorough in his explanations. Moreover, he has a very pleasant demeanour – he is friendly, patient, and humble (in spite of his great skills); these traits make him fun to work with.Actually, I think he is one of the best music teachers I have taken lessons with (in my lifetime, I've taken private music lessons with about 10 teachers).

Andrew Dicker - Violin Teacher
Andrew is a wonderful violinist, pedagogue, and experienced chamber musician. In my over 20 years of performing and 15 years of teaching, he has been a highlight of my experience in working with him together in studio, on stage, and in recording settings. He is pleasant, professional, reliable, and always eager to jump on the next project with optimism and enthusiasm. I would highly recommend him as a private violin teacher especially in the Kingston area where he is a real asset and the young students there are lucky to have him! So proud of you and all you've done, Andrew!

I am an adult beginner violin player. I have been learning for 3 years. I started my classes with Andrew in September (2022) and i can honestly say my playing has improved a lot over the past few months. Andrew has been a great teacher and he makes playing the violin fun. As an added bonus, he always provides little simple tricks that really elevate your playing and he will go out of his way to help you learn any piece you bring him.I highly recommend signing up for classes with Andrew!!

Andrew Dicker - Violin Teacher
Andrew is a fabulous violin teacher. He takes students where they are, and guides them forward according to individual interests and needs. Lessons are engaging and enjoyable, and evident of much planning and forethought. I love the detailed emails he sends to parents after the lesson to help focus at home practice. Andrew clearly loves teaching and excels at it. My son is 17 and looks forward to his lesson each week!

Andrew Dicker - Violin Teacher
Andrew was recommended to me by someone who is well respected in the classical music scene in Kingston. I have an 11 year-old beginner who wanted to start violin, and they have had an excellent experience with Andrew. The pace has been perfect and I really appreciate the email notes following each lesson. I'm very glad that we found Andrew!
