Lee Valley

Bought my first woodworking tools the other day. The staff is amazing! I went in nervous, and came out confident on my purchase. I had 2 staff members help me, and we were able to throw in personal experiences, and they treated me like an equal.I ended up buying a No4 smooth plane with the upgraded blade and a set of 4 chisels.Chisel prices were fair, but the plane was expensive. I am a believer in You get what you pay for" so I'm ecstatic about my purchases. I was able to try out the plane before purchase and felt the quality difference between this and a Stanley plane I used in a woodworking class.I wish I wrote down the names of the 2 employees so I can write an email to corporate about them. They were both enthusiastic and you can tell they love what they do. I will be coming back to get my blades sharpened and buy more tools when I need them.Update: I was so pleased with the service

I called ahead to make sure that what I wanted was in stock due to the distance to travel. Everything was in stock. Greeted upon entering the store. Helped immediately with my items. Check out is a bit longer than most places - not sure why since I am in their system. Overall very happy with everything I purchased today and in the past! Highly recommend.

I bought and garbage container that perfectly fit on the space we had. I could not find anything close to this in other retail stores. After more than a year balls from the sliders started to come out. I went to the store hoping they will be able to help me. Wendy greeted me, listened to the issue and brought me replacement free of charge. I was extremely happy. Many thanks Wendy and Lee Valley! Great service!

Extremely rude staff. Old man behind the counter yelled at me as I was putting back a rake and had a large roll of mesh in my hand. (Pretty hard to steal). He shouted Lady you have to pay for that you know". The whole store looked over and the old lady behind the counter started to laugh VERY loudly. She was screaming and laughing like a hyena for about a minute until I came back to the counter. I said it wasn't that funny. She said not laughing at me but her laughing only attracted more people in the store to look over. She was laughing at the old man as she said his comments would get him in trouble for talking like that to customers

It's surreal to me I just found Lee Valley. Besides the atypical in-store ordering situation, this place is amazing. Arguably, most things are expensive and some potentially overpriced, but you get what you pay for. I'm not aware of another brick and mortar store with such an amazing selection of fine woodworking tools and supplies. You will find everything you need here, plus a million things you don't and the customer service is fantastic.

Lots to look at;so many great products. I always discover stuff I didn't know I needed! Great service too.

Best place for quality woodworking tools. Also good selection of top end gardening tools.Lots of the other accessories that go along with those things too. And a good selection of quality baking gear.Lots of free parking in front of the store and lots of very helpful, cheerful staff.

Lee Valley is an excellent store for woodworkers and Makers in general. (And gardeners, and ...)Their goods are high quality. I genuinely enjoy shopping there.Only quasi-negative is they sometimes only have the expensive version of something, when a less pricy version would suit me just fine.

What I appreciate most about Lee Valley is its dedication to the craft. Woodworking mostly, but gardening, hardware, and a few other hobbies to round out its offering. Quality products, stuff even made right here in North America, can be procured at fair prices. The Veritas line of tools and accessories can be compared to any other and holds it's own handily.The showroom has a wide variety of new and featured products, along with showcases of a number of catalog items that Lee Valley carries. I picked up a value pack of sandpaper. I love a great deal! You do have to place your order with a staff member behind the counter. A number system helps keep busier times organized.Staff can be really helpful, as they are experienced woodworkers and content experts on just about everything they carry. I have tried posing complicated questions, but the answers come back just as fast as I can throw them! :DOn-line ordering is very easy, with quick delivery. The seemingly endless lock-downs from the Covid pandemic has at least given us free delivery!Still like going to the showroom. Sooooo many nice things to see. Also, the clearance section can bear some nice deals too!
