As a new home owner, I'm a regular here. Their home decor selection is amazing, and if you love making stuff like I do then this place is heaven for you - they have amazing workshops and do-it-yourself spaces where you can make/create things and the friendly staff will help you. I even brought my husband in to make a succulent terrarium!

Phenomenal person, wonderful florist! Kate went above and beyond to make my wedding day special, and we will never forget it! So many compliments on our gorgeous flowers, and my bouquet was stunning. Highly recommend for all your special occasions!Thank you Kate!

Today I went to tha Kate’s Garden.It’s fast time.The shop is lovely and great with cute gardening supplies at reasonable prices.I can’t wait to go back again soon.

I had a wonderful experience at the flower arrangement workshop! The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. The selection of flowers was abundant and fresh. I’m so happy with the result and would 100% attend another one. Fun to attend solo or with others. Thank you!

*edit: I appreciate the thoughtful response from this shop, and I do hope this experience was an anomaly. My dental hygienist actually told me she had the same experience of being ignored before I decided to post. However, I am always willing to give the shop another visit and update my review accordingly. I have a couple hundred succulents and know Kim's well. I loved to see the happy employees working; just wish someone would have said hello or come over. I always love to know community store employees by name to build a relationship over time as a customer. I also don't mind paying a premium for unusual pots and gifts - it was more the common ones that I was surprised at the prices. Perhaps there could be a volume discount or sale events I don't know about? There's a lot of opportunity with Kate's clientele to capitalize on the succulents trend right now - I think that taking the rotting ones off the shelf would go a long way to build trust that your plants are all cared for! I will certainly drop by again and update my review. I hope to experience all the great things your shop has stood for in Markham.My review is based on my experience a couple of weeks ago, and my specific needs. It's entirely possible that for cut flowers and arrangements, this place is great. However, I was looking for succulents specifically. The location is in a small plaza with free parking, across from the Markham GO station.Upon entering, I wasn't sure I was in the right place because I didn't see any plants! I could also smell lots of artificial fragrances products, which was strange for me entering a plant store. Lots of nice merchandise and gifts, which were overpriced, but might help someone in need of a last-minute gift.In the back of the main store area, there was an area for the florists to work. Three of them were there, clearly enjoying their work, laughing and chatting. No one acknowledged me when I came in the store, nor when I walked back there.I did a walk-around to look for succulents. Most of what they carried are typical varieties one can find elsewhere, for much cheaper. For the smallest pots, their price was double of a nearby nursery. I understand that their overhead as a small shop and not propagating themselves means they have additional costs, so I get it. But, hopefully, this information can inform people before they go. My biggest problem is the condition of the plants - these succulents were etoliated, and many were clearly rotting right on the shelf. So, if you're looking for succulents, don't bother checking this place out.I did a second slow walk-around and looked at pots (again, overpriced, but no one offered assistance or even said hello.I know this place has been here forever, and many old Markham residents use it for their arrangements (gifts, funerals, weddings, home), but, given the demographics of Markham today, this quaint shop needs to adapt and quickly.

Love the staff here, so helpful and the work shop kits are fantastic. Picked up a few different kinds as gifts for family. The flowers are beautiful and bring a little colour indoors during the winter.

Can’t say enough about their prompt reply to my email, and the great service. Our gardens look amazing!
