Saanichton Bay Park
This is a small linear park along the waterfront of Saanichton Bay. For its urban location it is a quiet place. The walking path is paved, so is suitable for those with limited mobility, though there are some moderate slopes. Access to the shore is available at a few locations, some only at low tide. There are good views to the east. There are lots of birds both in the trees and bushes along the shore and in the bay. Neighbors maintain bird feeding stations in a couple of places along the path, attracting many small birds. Parking is available in a lot off Mt. Newton Cross Road - it is easy to miss, so watch for the sign on the left when traveling east along Mt. Newton Cross after the four way stop. The paved path starts at the east end of the lot.

Saanichton Bay Park
Peaceful quiet spot, well maintained, beautiful views over the water, but sadly no sand beach. Visited at low tide, appears that the entire shore is underwater at high tide.

Saanichton Bay Park
Wonderful place to take your dog for an off leash walk. And there's a nice big field if you want to throw a ball for your dog. Picnic tables too, and beach access.

Beautiful oceanside walks / jogs or runs. Ocean is fragrant for those who enjoy sensing the ocean in the air.

Made this a rest stop while checking out the Lochside trail on bike. Stunning scenery, quiet as can be, a complete gem

Saanichton Bay Park
Very clean. Several trails to the beach, but the tide was in so there was no beach.

Great view of James Island. Sand on the beach us a bit mucky. Nice rocky out crop where there are tide pools.

I had fun at the beach it's beautiful, it's the first time I've been there. I was very confused when I saw wet/used toilet paper strewn about in the seaweed. And yes there were different. Also I loved the view and the wildlife.

Love this park. The path is well-maintained. There are some benches along the way. On the southern end of the path, Canada Geese gather in large numbers late-September to mid-October. If you bring binoculars, keep an eye out for leucistic geese.
