Sir William Stephenson Library

A small library, with very accommodating staff. Great atmosphere for studying with plenty of outlets. Only drawback would be that it has limited seats during peak hours (after-school/weekends). If you want to study here make sure to get here earlier in the day so that you'll have a table to sit at. Also, if you want to get coffee, it's walking distance to a Tim Horton's in an Esso gas station, and a Starbucks at a Safeway.

The first library I discovered and used once I was able to have my own library card independently. I used to come here everyday and sit for most of the day on the computer (before we were timed) and met a great deal of life changing people here.. this library will always hold a place in my heart.Mike is the best librarian. Please say hi to him when you go in!

The librarians are so nice and jovial all the time, it's amazing. I think people who complain about noise fail to realize it's not a reading room or a school library. It's a PUBLIC library. Just ask an employee to point you to a quiet area or bring noise cancelling headphones.

5 stars for the staff, as they are always friendly and accommodating.I had to book one of their private rooms for a Zoom meeting, but they allowed me to use a different room when I needed an extension (due to time confusion among attendees).I had to use their printer but didn't have cash on me. Their staff allowed me to print anyway, and just paid the next day.They were willing to extend my computer time, no problem, as long as it was not busy.The washroom is clean and easily accessible.However, these need improvements:1. There was only 1 computer terminal to check the catalogue.2. Some of the clients are noisy. The staff should have the authority to approach them and remind them to tone it down.3. The tables and chairs in the private room were sticky with food crumbs. Please have disinfectant/cleaning wipes available. I don't know if people are allowed to eat inside the library, but they can't clean up after themselves if there are no wipes around. Also, I like to wipe my work area before I start.

We first borrowed books at West Kildonan Library, but we switched to Sir William Stephenson since it was near my daughter’s catechism class.It had more of a welcoming vibe there, with lots of windows, and not that much need for artificial lighting in the kids area.In West Kildonan, the kids area was underground, and there were not many windows there. The staff were mildly friendly.The staff in Sir William Stephenson are very friendly, and they made jokes to everyone with things like “Library Jail” and even recommended the summer reading club to my daughter!Overall, Sir William Stephenson is a great library, and West Kildonan is closer to our house right now, and my daughter has her foot down not to make the switch, even though she is done with her catechism

Nice loud library. I can clearly hear what the staff are saying from the front desk all the way from the back on the library. If I didn’t know any better, I’d wouldn’t even guess that I’m at a library. Plus the staff say nothing to people that come to the library to talk on the phone, disrupting everyone.

very convenient place. Library have their own parking space and it is free parking. Also you can rent the space for any group gathering, which is very nominee price. environment for study is great.

The staff is very friendly. They donot give you looks even if you walk in 15 min before closing. Thanks Sandra and Catherine and all the other sweet fellows of the library. Also the library has a bus stop just 10 sec away. It also has a starbucks across the street. Can’t wait for the library to be 100% available for study hours and then I can finally come in to write my essays.
