Absolutely bad experience with this department. We recently made a second dwelling at our place, following lawful procedure with City of Mississauga permit. This department asked us to deposit 3536.75$ as a security fee. After the completion of work, we were supposed to receive 2999 as a refund. However, their inspector came after our work done and imposed fine of 1500$ as he said there is a crack on the sidewalk? We told him, we could not do anything to cause such crack of the sidewalk due to our work and he can walk around the neighborhood and see, there are so many cracks. Also, 1500$ to repair a sidewalk crack is too much money to pay. I feel cheated by this department and dont know where can I escalate this matter?
