Why isn't the total of my bill displayed in the email when I receive the email that my bill is ready? However, the total owed is displayed in the email when the payment is late. I don't understand why you can't just tell me what I owe in the first email?

Absolute worst company to deal with when trying to pay a bill, write a review, or contact for any reason whatsoever. Guess this is what happens when a government company controls your power!

When you try to call BC Hydro regarding questions about your bill first you are placed on hold for 30 some minutes and when you finally hear a click and think finally an agent is answering it switches to a busy signal as someone just hang up on you. Outrageous!!!! Then when you call in again as you do need explanation regarding your bill same thing happens twice??????? Who does that???? This is the service you get when there is only one company providing a much needed service. Very rude

I am from Ontario, leasing a property for 90 days in Nanaimo. I called BC Hydro to have an account created and was forwarded to Robert at customer service. The entire process took less than 10 minutes by telephone. My experience with BC Hydro was nothing short of outstanding. A nominal acccount creation charge of $13.02 will be levied. Awesome.

BC Hydro's smart meters aren't smart or accurate. They have been proven to be so and still nothing is done about it. Now I learn from an employee that their transformers are low grade to draw more power from the grid, thus being able to charge the customer more $$$$. There are waaaay better transformers of various grades that draw about half of what they are currently using. My question to Hydro would be: In a global crisis regarding the environment, why would you intentionally waste energy? I can't even say I lost confidence in the grid and do not want to fund it any longer. In no way can I completely disconnect from it legally..

The power is off AGAIN. It is not stormy, icy, or anything else. The frequency of outages in my neighborhood is far worse than in the past. Use some of the huge amounts of money you collect to do some scheduled maintenance .

How dare you charge customers a fee to pay other peoples utility bills. You estimated it would cost 25 cents per month and it is already TWICE as much+ 51 cents. You DO NOT bill customers to pay for other peoples problems. Use your own money to subsidize them and use it as a tax write off which you already do anyways.

Pretty disturbing to see your staff in company vehicles on the road, road raging at traffic and flipping off people in said company vehicles. Great representation

Terrible company. Won't let you apply for rebates in person or over the mail, but their website won't let you apply either.
