Library good - problem is children and adult section dont have any separation - Children (toddlers) can be VERY LOUD - and i found it just now sitting in the library in pin drop silence - its very Annoying! And library staff seems not to care about this. Dont think I would encourage people to come to this library (especially today, ie Saturday).

Recently moved into Winnipeg and I live near this library, so I came to get a library card. The staff member who helped me was very kind and gave me a run-down of online and in person resources! Very helpful and speedy service setting up my new account. I found the selection of books and other materials to be really good and I also picked up an audiobook for a book group. I’m excited to join in the conversation around the book. Lots of people studying and using the computers there, but still very quiet. The kids area is nice and I look forward to bringing my daughter here. Will definitely be visiting again!

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR HOURSI walked to the library with my daughter today and was extremely dissapointed to find that you were closed on Saturdays during summertime. I specifically looked up the hours to see if you were open because its a long walk. We had to turn back home with no new books. We also had books and a video game to return, we put the books in the book shoot but we couldnt return the game. Not only were my daughter and I dissapointed, there were three other people trying to get into the library as well, also shocked that you were closed. :(

Gorgeous library with tons of outdoor tables and they mentioned they have heaters for cooler days. Love that option the kids play area looked really cute. The library books for pickup are poorly situated. The space breaks my heart since it should be open to the public. Kids need to be there and growing.

Spacious design. Friendly staff. Great for children with padded book nooks big enough for an adult to squeeze into.

The Bill and Helen Norrie Library was identified as a priority in the Grant Park Recreation Campus Plan and the Library Redevelopment Plan. The 14,000 square foot library replaced the River Heights Library which originally opened in 1961 on land purchased from the Winnipeg School Board. In recognition of the history of the site formerly known as Rooster Town, the library was designed with a pitched roof, wood panelling and earth tones. The library features images of Rooster Town, artifacts and books. Saskatoon berry glass wall designs and lighting features have also been incorporated into the interior.

I love this library, so many comfy places to sit and variety of seating options. The natural light is great as well. The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Closed on Sundays? I’m so baffled by this. Sunday seems to me the perfect day to go to the library.Edit. Now it’s closed Saturday and Sunday, and Wednesday still. What on earth? Why is this wonderful public facility closed three days a week?
