I wish I could leave a negative five star review after my terrible experience with this store.The blonde lady working there was extremely rude and disrespectful and I can confidently say that meeting her has been the worst customer service experience of my life.Not only were her wares ridiculously overpriced, but she was very pushy in trying to sell my friend items in which she was not at all interested in, and insulted her when she politely declined her forceful unsolicited offers.When we left, this woman was passive agressive and catty towards us, waving us out with a big fake smile and calling out after us to get the last word in.This takes the cake for me as the most unprofessional behavior I have ever wittnessed in a public establishment.0/10 wouldn't not recommend.

The shop owner kicked me out thinking I was going to rob the place. We offered to leave our bags at the door and she ‘suggested’ that we leave because they were busy. There was only one other person in the store. Then she made a snarky comment to another woman about us… Horrible service I do not recommend you purchase anything from there especially if you are not from Saint John.

I've never encountered such blatant racism before. We walked in, the infamous lady didn't greet us. I was looking to buy rain boots for my daughter. My children went to look around and she said Don't go over there

My mother, 12 year old niece and I went into the store to look for a wallet for my niece, the owner (lady) came over and hovered, literally breathing down my mother’s back watching their every move as they looked at the wallets. Then I niece noticed more wallets on the other side of the display and said “oh, more wallets” and the owner lady said “oh no, you’re not touching anything else” as she stormed off.My mother and I were flabbergasted at this and we all left the store. Never to return.

First time shopping in store, purchased a few items and unfortunately came across a flaw a few days later in the wallet. This is besides the point as I was able to do a straight exchange for another wallet. During my visit to exchange.. I looked for 10 minutes at the wallets then started to get rushed by the manager (I'm assuming the manager) because she needed a lunch break. I had full intentions to continue shopping but the women made it VERY clear that because of me she will not be taking a break... saying she will have her break when shes off at 6. I said I was in no rush at all because I am shopping around and I even suggested I come back. I was completely shocked and confused when she told me it needs to be taken care of now. Then ... a store credit was mentioned also when I arrived with the broken wallet, so I considered that at the register knowing she needed to go on her break, as I needed to make a decision and wasnt ready. Next thing I know, she told me NEVER MIND?, straight exchange only, she said to me pick now or nothing" so of course I picked? And to think after the rushed exchange was completed... she refused to take her break until I left the store. I started to look around at everything but felt so uncomfotable as I am now a burden. This situation should have been handled MUCH differently

I have made several purchases at Walsh Luggage and have always been very satisfied with the excellent customer service as well as the quality and cost of my purchases.

I just heard from a St. John local about this business, and the disgusting treatment they'd received from the owner. The 'boss' advised they were in the wrong place because 'the items were very expensive', insulating the individual couldn't afford to shop there. The individual was the President of a large organization and could have bought and sold the store many times over. She was incensed and rightfully so.I then decided to Google the shop and look at the reviews on the business and I was blown away! The average review of 1.4 stars is unheard of and, ALL the comments referred to the nasty lady who owned the business.I've never seen anything like this. The consistent poor reviews, with all the reviews having the same theme:The big owner was a biatch, insulting and rude.If I visit St. John I have to visit Walsh just to see this creature in action. It sounds like one could have some pushing buttons. I would also ensure I had the encounter recorded for my protection.UPDATE. I visited the shop this August and the owner was as advertised. The visit was a complete and utter waste of my time other than it did confirm Walsh has NO business in the public/retail firm.As I was aware of her caustic nature I wasn’t surprised by the total package. Not surprised but she still managed to exceed the negatives I had entering the store.If I lived anywhere close to St. John NB I’d open a competitive store and she’d be out of business in a year.The irony is that I loved all the people I met while visiting the city, except this one larger than normal, arrogant and nasty lady.Neither she nor her little store would survive in any other market place. I guess the cruise ships are her salvation.

Just one more negative review for your business..My daughters and I were rudely “greeted” at the door. Before I even walk in she says to me with a scrunched up face “oh this isn’t really a kid friendly store..” (might I add that my daughter had touched NOTHING).Against my better judgement, I continued to inquire about a purse in the window. As we followed her, she made us feel very uncomfortable, telling my daughter “ you better walk with mom” ( I was pushing my youngest in the stroller). Again, she touched nothing. She showed me the overpriced purse. I looked around for only a moment as I felt pressured to leave. She did not hesitate to walk us to the door and close the door right behind us.This was my first and last time visiting the store.My daughters will know that your behaviour was unacceptable and we don’t speak to anyone in such judgemental, disrespectful ways. Especially when you’re trying to do business. Mind blown. Do better ladies, do better.

I'm assuming she's the manager, the older blonde woman. She is so rude and automatically judges you when you walk in. Because I wasn't dressed up and I was in sneakers and leggings, because I was out for a walk, that meant I was going to steal something. She followed me the entire time, to the point I was uncomfortable and didn't want to give her my business. Too bad I have to give one star.

Very rude/worst customer service, she was nice at first until she tried to sell me a $90 wallet, I almost choked on my drink when she told me the price, then asks me what my budget is, to which I reply, I dunno like $20, and she says (in a snappy tone) you couldn't buy a wallet at Walmart for $20, then escorts me to the door and slams it shut behind me. Never going back... I wasn't even allowed to look around or touch things, only what she showed me.
