Bought a $60 fresh turkey from IGA Murrayville Langley this Christmas. Worst bird I have ever had. 10 of us could not eat it. It stunk up the house from raw to fully cooked. Packaging came from Hallmak. Literally had the oder of a decomposing animal. Strange texture. One bite and I knew my guests were not going to eat it. Dogs are happy though. I would steer clear of anything made by this company now that I read terrible reviews about them everywhere. I suspect this bird came from the fraser valley floods honestly! Iga should never buy from a company with terrible ratings and resell at top dollar!

Bought a pound of their Extra Lean Ground Chicken. Just vile. Ground so fine and packed so full of water it was unusable.

I can see why they are wrapped in while plastic so you cant see the turkey. They absolutely ruined the look of this bird and made it difficult to stuff due to all the terrible tears in the skin. I was extremely disapointed this morning when i unwrapped that mess. Also there was only liver in cavity so there was no heart or gizzard. Pretty cheap guys.

Their processing plant on Commercial and Pandora in East Van smells shockingly bad, even like 10 blocks away. It smells strongly of rotting meat, and I would not eat anything that comes out of that place. If you buy from them, I encourage you to walk by and smell for yourself...

For Christmas 2022 we were finding it quite difficult to find frozen turkeys. Luckily Save-on-Foods finally advertised some and my husband purchased a 5.6 kg bird. I had never heard of the brand and Googled it only to read shocking reviews. Fortunately, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the bird when we unwrapped it and it was cooked up on a bed of veggies for just under three hours - I follow Jamie Oliver’s method so not stuffed and not trussed. It rested for an hour and carved up beautifully. It was delicious, moist and flavourful. The gravy was beautiful. My only negative comment is that the giblets consisted only of the neck. I would recommend this brand and look for it again. PS - were still enjoying leftovers!

Doing a charity event to help feed more than 500 people in the Lower Mainland for Thanksgiving. Called in and spoke to someone in sales and wanted to purchase 85 turkeys at retail price similar to the prices at Wal Mart and Save on Foods. The sales associate showed no compassion for the charity and wanted to sell each turkey for 3 times more than the posted retail prices. We run on donations and a tight budget. Each of our basket is about $50.00 worth of groceries. Buying the turkeys from Hallmark Poultry would have taken 60% of our allocated budget. The same turkeys would be less than half the price in retail stores. Come on Hallmark. Train your sales people on how to talk to the customers calling in and be willing to support the community that helps you to be in the business.By the way Hallmark, Wal Mart in Surrey ended up supplying us all the turkeys at $15.00 per unit. We made sure none of those were from Hallmark.

This industry speaks for itself, the people who defend it, the behaiviours, the many issues at hand. It also sucks to live in the neighboineigh knowing this is happening 24 hours a day and smelling the horrific odours and by products of the thousands of lives being taken every day.
