Tried booking for some notary services. After calling 3 times, leaving voicemail and emailing twice to follow up, still took them 3 days to get back to me ..... needless to say, I booked somewhere else.

Hired Thornborough Smeltz to assist with an adoption and would have been better off completing the process on our own. After the initial 30 minute meeting and first couple weeks it was next to impossible to get a response from them. In the end we ended up dealing direct with the Courts to complete the adoption as the lawyers continually ignored us and missed completing multiple steps of the process. Not to mention falsely informed us that they had sent documents in, when in fact they had been misplaced in their office. What could have been a couple month process is now almost 8 months. What a head-ache and stressful situation for something that is supposed to be an exciting time.

The minute your retainer runs out you will not get so much as an email, let alone a phone call. I think if you have the money up front they would do an adequate job but I'm still in the middle of my divorce so the advice given to me might not be good advice! Tammy the family lawyer phoned me and was quite adamant about not doing a thing until money is always up front.

I went to Thornborough Smeltz for help with a corporate contract. Not only was the lawyer I met with extremely knowledgeable but also patient with me. I was given excellent legal advice and was treated really well. I would 100% recommend this law firm and will definitely be going back.

I don't know what has happened with this firm...I heard good stuff about them, We had to fire Tammy (or disengage her) because of the lack of commitment towards our case. I could write more details, but I'm seriously done dealing with this firm.

Laurie is a first rate lawyer. She is professional, sharp, and works in the best interest of her clients. By understanding the different courts and their procedures coupled with a get it done attitude she is light years ahead of most lawyers. I highly recomend her.

Had a Small window to get papers signed before we left for holidays ,they had my file for approximately a week or just over that . Never received a phone call 9r email ,text nothing ..... called and left message twice on a personal assistant voicemail and never heard back from them. Spoke with my bank on sending new letter to instruct to Shuett law and within 2 days papers signed and cheque in hand . If you are looking for great law firm Shuett are the people to deal with . Wound not recommended these people at all .

I was very disappointed with the quality of service at Thornborough Smeltz. They lacked professionalism in communications, timeliness, and customer service. The time delay between communications was unacceptable. I often asked for clarifications on our strategy and what the timeline would be. I would get a giant lecture on why my case wasn't a priority. One year and almost $10,000 later I have nothing to show for their work. The support staff looked miserable and I can now see why. In the end I had to fire them. I now see just how bad their services were as I have a new lawyer and firm to compare them to. I would not wish this firm on anyone. Stay far, far away.
